a university is 4 years and community is 2 years casue its junior college and at a uni you get a BA and at a community you get an AA

Four years earns you a Bachelor's Degree. Two years, an Associate's Degree.

BA is bachelors degree and AA is associative arts degree-but what those are i dont really know

You can also get a certificate which is right before an AA.

Here's the order:

-Certificate
-Associates
-Bachelors
-Masters
-PhD. or Doctorate

You can also acquire two fields: Arts (i.e. Bachelors of Science) or Sciences (Masters of Arts), depending on the type of major.

Technology and Education majors are generally classified as "Science" while Journalism and Graphics are generally classified as "Arts."

Some community colleges even offer bachelors programs. Mine has one for English majors, and you take courses for it at the college you're physically attending, but the courses are offered through an unversity. I used to be an English major and I was in that program, but not now. I switched to a journalism major and I'll be heading off to an university to finish up my last two years.

Just so you don't get confused, a higher education facility ending with "college" and not "unversity" doesn't mean it's a community college (necessarily).

I'm going for 2 certificates right now. I have the BA. I'll probably pile up the certificates.

CCs give those as well as correspondense courses.

The real definitiom is a community college is for really any idiot whom does not have the brain to go to a regular university. I had a friend that went striaght out of High School to a community college and got a perfect 4.0 and hardly ever studied and he was a terrible student in high school. Also usually the types of people that go to community college are trailor park white trash.

That is so bigoted I can't even put it into words.

CCs are great for people who don't want to pay disgustingly high university tuition just to take their gen ed courses, which are basically repeats of HS. It's a great way to save money and get acclimated to college life if you're not ready to take the gigantic leap from HS to university/adulthood in one day.

People also go to community colleges for the first two years and then go to an university for their final two years, because it's CHEAPER IN THE LONG RUN.
