I see it happen all the time. There are alot of lonely people out there. I personally would not want to pursue a relationship with someone that far away.

I don't agree with online dating and I would never ever do it, but just because someone lives in a different state doesn't mean you can't love them.

That's like saying anyone who comes onto this message board and makes friends with people is pathetic. It's the same concept, forming relationships over the internet, the only difference is the type of relationship it is. Everyone deserves to be in love and people can open up more online than in other settings. Yes, you could meet a psychopath but at the SAME time you could also meet someone great. The same thing can happen in person though, how many times have people thought they were with someone really great only to discover it was all a lie and that the person was abusive or a cheater. I don't know if I would ever date online but don't be so judgemental until you can put yourself in these other people's shoes.

in my opinion, i met jonathan online (of course we had a slightly diff. situation... I knew a friend of his, he knew a friend of mine, so we knew each other wasn't psyco) and my friend met her boyfriend of almost 4 years online, so hey, it works for some
