And he is making crying sounds. What should I do? He looks like he's scared.

Racoons will eat just about anything, but it's important that it doesn't know that it is you who are feeding it. You'll never get rid of it if it knows you are the source of food.
Understand, also that racoons are smart! They can do the most amazing things! They out-think humans everyday. So be careful. |

I say just leave it alone... that's my vote. Then again, I don't mess with animals much, so maybe you know more than me

Personally I try to help any animal in trouble. I've rescued baby birds on a regular basis and I even helped out a catapiller who was covered in ants(that scene almost made me cry)! So, I vote do what you can. But carefully! This isn't a baby bird. This thing can get messy. It's possible it would survive if you leave it alone, but as for myself, I couldn't live with the thought of leaving it alone! |

Jenya - if the crying continues, I'd call your local SPCA. If they won't come to check him out, they could put you in touch with the wildlife division (they all have them). If he/she is in trouble or something they'll come and get it and any babies.
Yes - don't go near it - if it does have babies it can be quite aggressive. I had one in my backyard this year I ran into while going out to vacuum the pool. They sometimes setup housekeeping in the pool shed. (He just ran off though). If the SPCA can't help, they can at least give you some info on how to deal with it. You should be able to find them online - just google the letters and your city or suburb. Hope this helps! |

That can be arranged. I don't know if the little guy has sibblings. He isn't crying anymore. I gave him a hotdog.
