Default "Kidz Bop" CDs

Besides conservative, overprotective soccer moms who drive SUVs, who buys these awful things? Everytime I see a commercial for them, I get the urge to immediately induce vomiting.

A chorus of tonedeaf little brats singing "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams." So sickening, yet so side-splittingly hilarious at the same time.

when i see the commercials for them all i can think is "WHY? why did they have to ruin THAT song? and that one. and that one. NOOOOOOO." i don't understand what the hell the point of those is anyway. i'd rather listen to the original artist singing a song than a bunch of untalented kids who don't understand the meaning of it. if one of my songs ended up on one of those cd's i would just about kill myself. i would CRY.

It's sad that a lot of TV shows have incomplete DVD's due to music rights yet these songs can be killed by little brats and it's okay.

a review on Amazon states exactly how overprotective and silly these parents who buy these crappy cd's are

Quote:
This CD was given to my son as a gift when it first came out (he's 10 now)...though the songs are supposedly aimed towards children, the lyrics have not been changed. There is nothing cute about a preschooler singing Britney's lyrics "I'm not that innocent"...and they also did not change Ricky Martin's lyric "Like a bullet to the brain".
I suppose if you don't mind that your children hear lyrics such as this, the CD would be okay, but since the singing is of poor quality, you might as well just play the artist's original song.

I for one will stick to Raffi, Greg & Steve, Ella Jenkins, and Dr. Thomas Moore for my preschooler!
Quote:
Truth is, my boy/girl twins who are 3 years old, really enjoy this CD. We bought it due to their interest in the enticing advertisements on television which show children dancing around singing cheerfully to pop "hits." My son has long appreciated Smash-Mouth's "All-Star" and since these tracks are slower versions of the originals, the lyrics are more easily heard. My son now proudly performs his dramatic and adorable version of the song with correct and complete lyrics for all 3 verses. My daughter, to my chagrin, loves to belt out the lyrics to "Oops! I did it again!" formerly by Brittney Spears. This has been a mixed blessing for us. On one hand, my kids really like the upbeat songs, and the (mostly) easily undertood lyrics. On the other hand, they rarely listen to Top 40 music, and would never have otherwise been exposed to the lyrics of some of these songs were it not for this CD. For this, I now regret buying it. Some song choices are questionable at best, like the one song with lyrics that say, "I steal your honey like I stole your bike." and the song with lyrics that say, "I'm not that innocent." or the other songs mentioned in previous reviews. While it may be charming that my 3 year old son performs his favorite song to everyone he meets, singing, "So what's wrong with taking the back streets? You'll never know if you don't go...." it is horrifying to watch my 3 year old daughter sing, "I'm not that innocent!"
come on parents, stop being so PC. I was a 2 year old and I remember singing along to "Let's Get Physical" by Olivia Newton-John (hey, it was 1981-1982) whenever it would come on and you know, that song WASN'T about working out. It didn't "corrupt" me and my parents and older siblings weren't all anal retentive over me listening to a song obviously about sex. I was a few years older and liked "Like A Virgin" by Madonna even tho I really didn't know what a virgin was. I also liked "She Bop" by Cyndi Lauper without knowing it was an ode to masturbation, hell, I didn't know what masturbation was. Yet NONE of those songs messed me up, it wasn't until "I Want Your Sex" by George Michael came out when a song like that came around and had me asking inappropriate questions but by that time I was 8.

Anybody who thinks "I'm not that innocent" is so evil and inappropriate for a 3 year old obviously needs to hear Prince's 1999 album or any given rap album that isn't by a former NBC/current Nick At Nite star who is an actor first, rapper second, and then they will really realize what prudes they're being. Songs like Livin' La Vida Loca (Ricky, you're Living La Vida OVER) and Oops I Did It Again are probably more inoffensive than Physical or She Bop were yet those songs didn't mess me up as a young kid.

omfG those things are pointless I want to smash each and every one of them with a mallot. If the idiots who buy them don't like them either, then screw making them all together.

I'm still wondering how they got all the way to 8. They can't do good in sales. When they released number 2 I thought that was too much.

"Kidz Bop" and "Worship Jams" are two different things

But both of them are horrible
