Why is it that in the first season her name is only shown as "BerNadette" no last name? Then in the following seasons they show her last name? Just curious.

Anyway, that whole thing with her name irritates me. I think it was fixed after the fifth or sixth episode of the first season. If you notice, everyone's name is huge and "Stanis" didn't fit, so they had to shrink down the font size of everyone's name.

Welcome, I just joined this week myself. Didn't make sense until Good Times was available for me to see on t.v. and it did, with TV land.

I wonder why in later season her name was like this:

Bern
Nadette Stanis

instead of Bernnadette Stanis or Bernnadette

I remember reading years ago that her last name is actually Stanislaus.

I'm going to check my season 1 DVD to see when Bern Nadette became Bernnadette Stanis. Everytime I see the "former", I cringe.

Startiing with episode 4 God's Business Is Good Business, you'll see Bernadette Stanis, FULL name on the opening credits.

Was she part white? Because Stanislaus is a German Name.

I think she may have been concerned about the way people were pronouncing it

thats my guess

it never really bothered me, because I know how to pronounce her name the right way

but its like my name

its "Trish-a-lla"

with the first "a" sounding like "ah" and the end of the name "la" sounding like "la"

but I bet any of you on this board that if you called with right way to pronounce my name you would still not be able to say it right

So I understand where she is coming from

for those who are use to me on this board
sorry it was such a long post

but that was the best way I could explain her point of view atleast maybe.

when you have a hard name to pronounce!

if you can call me with the right way to say my name I will give you 20 bucks! lol

Okay I just noticed on tonight's episode that BernNadette's name is changed again. It is now: Bern Nadette. It was Bernnadette, then BernNadette Stanis, then Bern Nadette Stanis. FYI

Whenever I'm typing her name out, I always spell it

BernNadette Stanis

. . . becasue thats how the Internet Movie Database lists it as its primary spelling

It was probably a first-season episode. The "Bern Nadette" only appears in the first 3 episodes of the first season. Starting with the fourth episode, it becomes BernNadette Stanis. I'm using my DVD's as a reference. It might appear as "Bern Nadette" on other syndicated episodes besides the first 3.

no, her name appeared on last night's episode like this: Bern Nadette Stanis. Before her name wasn't separated. this is how her name has changed:
Bernnadette (No capital N)
Bernnadette Stanis
BernNadette Stanis
Bern Nadette Stanis

Notice the four diff. names!!??

I have to look back at my DVDs. I know the Bern Nadette was a mistake from the first 3 episodes of the first season...but the other 3 names???
I have to check out Seasons 2 - 4.
