Default Chuck E. Cheese stock off after earnings miss

DES MOINES, Iowa C-E-C Entertainment shares fell today after the operator of the Chuck E. Cheese chain missed second-quarter earnings expectations.
Irving, Texas-based C-E-C then lowered its full-year forecast.

The company blames the earnings shortfall on what it called a "failure" of its big summertime promotion to attract kids and their parents.

Flat second-quarter results of 14-point-four (M) million dollars -- or 40 cents a share -- disappointed investors. Wall Street analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial had expected earnings of 44 cents a share.

Management lowered its full-year per share forecast to two dollars 24 cents to two dollars 31 cents per share. They had been two dollars 33 cents to two dollars 38 cents per share in April. Analysts surveyed by First Call had expected two dollars 37 cents.

This is a huge Chuck E. Cheese news day:

First the man who fought police and injured a child back in February over not paying for the salad bar is in court today.

The stock report has come out on Chuck E. Cheese

And the most saddest Chuck E. Cheese news yet, a precious 3 year old boy was killed yesterday after celebrating his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese and his mother had just given birth to his sister a day earlier.

i didn't necessarily imply that anyone did. webwarrior said she's just determined to "ruin it for people who want to go there" so i informed him that it's not like she's just making up stories to destroy its reputation.

if you don't understand how my post contributed to the conversation now, then evidently you're looking at it from a different perspective and i don't know how to explain it. but it made sense.

I was just asking that's all, i thought you were implying that someone didn't believe what you were posting, so I asked.
