In this week's issue of Sports Illustrated, senior baseball writer Tom Verducci reports that Red Sox left fielder Manny Ramirez has asked to be traded because he is unhappy with his lack of privacy away from the park.
This guy is being paid 20 million dollars a season, just won a world series and is in first place in the AL East. This is the third time in four years that he has asked to be traded. What is wrong with this nut?!? Hartford Courant |

Brian, my husband is wild over this. Manny pulls this prima dona crap every year. Manny actually jogged to first base last night when he should have been running. He's not even playing today, his choice. The manager actually asked him to play and he said no, and the Sox are off tomorrow. He's just sitting in the dugout, while Trot Nixon is injured. Some team player he is.
I know we need him now, which is why he gets away with it. Moe Vaughn, Carl Everett and others have left Boston, only to regret it. |

I could understand if the Red Sox were in last place and he wanted to go to a contender, but his team is in 1st! Would he actually be happier playing for a team like Kansas City or Tampa Bay? He's a famous baseball player, what does he expect?
