Default Tries to be Friends...

I was reading the previous thread love story about how the show has changed from being about 2 sisters to love and relationships. And its true. I like the show, but miss the moments like in the first season. In 3 short seasons the cast has changed so much and the show has been taken off its orginal plot. The one good thing about all the castings is Lauren. She is hilarious and the actress plays the part well, if only she had better writting to work off of. Anywho. In watching the credits of this show I noticed Wil Calhoun, I think thats the name, is producer or writer or something. Well I know he also worked on Friends and as I watch WILAY I notice it has many of the FRIENDS qualities in it only molded so it doesnt seem like its quite copying it. All the changes point to it trying to be like friends. First was the muffin shop thing. I like the idea of them having a hang out, but did it need to be that corny shop, with a couch in the center i might add. That diner was working just fine. Then came Valerie's relationship with Rick, which came to a wedding which to me reminded me alot of a Friends wedding. Then Holly's relationships. Its all friends but on a faster pace. The show could be so much better, but they need to get rid of major story arcs and work on sharp, witty writing and utilize these actors talents. Lauren and Tina a great sidekicks, more needs to be done with them and WILAY needs to get rid of the Vince character/actor. THe character is uneccessary and causes the show to be to rocky and not stable trying to write story lines for so many characters. Also he is a terrible actor. The show would be great if it was just Holly, Val, Tina, Lauren and Gary. Ben seems to clutter things up as well.
Well anyway, those are just my thoughts, I do like the show, but i hate to see them not see how they could make it better, but i will contineu to watch because I love Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth and I want to see the show get better.

I agree with you for the most part, they are trying to make Holly and Vince like Ross and Rachel from Friends, but its just not working. I like the character Vince, and I like the actor Nick Zano. I don't think they should get rid of the character but they should make him and Holly just friends. Ben annoys me alot. Tina and Lauren are the only good new characters.

too much drama in the newer episodes...get back to the fast-paced wacky humor

and Ben is annoying as hell.

Actually I didn't like seeing Ben & Holly together because they had no chemistry like Holly has with Vince or had with Henry.Ben is better at just being a friend
