Well, Night Court will be taking over the slot soon, so it isn't too bad. They'll be paired up just like on NBC.

I was confused after I finished the second half of It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World yesterday when it was supposed to be 1230 and I saw Sanford and Son on instead of Cheers.

I thought, "Gee, I rewinded for dialogue more than I thought!", lol.

Noooo problem with Night Court. Hoping it finds a new batch of fans since it was so underrated in its day. But Sanford til then, blech. Although TV Land claimed tonight was the finale or the series, so maybe it'll be gone tomorrow night.

Night Court will actually be airing at 11:30pm before Cheers.
Effective August 15, Wings will replace the 3:30am airing of Cheers.
Sanford and Son will remain at 12:30am.
I too will miss the back2back episodes of Cheers.

Works for me. I need a new show, and not having seen Night Court in years will be great. Plus being on the west coast, I'll get it at 8:30 instead of 11:30. Now if they could only get the Hogan Family, Growing Pains, Family Ties on..........

A boy can dream.

So is there any possibility that Cheers will be taken off the air period?

No, I don't think Cheers will be going anywhere- it's just being reduced. The show has aired a lot over the last year and they probably need to cut back due to # of airplays available. It's been being aired four times everyday on TV Land in addition to a mini-marathon for a number of months. Last summer it was still additionally airing on Nick@Nite.

It will still be airing twice a day which is more than what can be said for a number of shows on TV Land. If it gets cut back to one time a day then we may need to worry a little. Cutting back on Cheers and Three's Company was one of the only ways to accomodate new shows to the TV Land schedule without cutting out other shows completely.

I'll actually miss the back to back airings of Cheers. However, I don't mind a little more variety.

I noticed that the other night - I thought it was weird. I'm looking forward to 'Night Court' - I haven't seem it in a long time.
