Another Florida inconsistancy - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Florida giving Thelma permission to marry Keith......over the phone.......in Arizona. She didn't know him or hadn't met him. In earlier episodes, Florida and James would have to meet the guy and get to know him and like him. I just felt this one was strange. It didn't take Florida no time to give Thelma the green light in this situation.

I don't think that was being inconsistent mainly because for one thing Thelma was younger in earlier seasons. Florida probably felt that now at this point Thelma was mature enough to know what's right for her. Plus Thelma told Florida she'd marry him even if she said no. So there wasn't much Florida could do.

I'm sure it helped that Keith was going to be a millionare playing football.
