Why did Steve and D.J. break up? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Why did all of a sudden towards the end of Season 7, why did Steve and D.J. break up? It almost seemed as though they broke up with no apparent explination. I mean there was sort of an explination, but I think that episode should have ended with things working out and them getting back together. I remember thinking that was what was going to happen. That by the end of the episode they would resolve their conflict, and the episode would end with a long kiss between them up on that mountain. Also it seemed like an odd time for them to break up. The season wasn't even over yet and it was like in the 4 or 5 episodes that aired after that the writers had to do what they could to keep Steve in the story lines. Like him coming to pick up his stuff from D.J. Why do you think the writers had them break up? And why at such an odd point in the season and not in the season finale or a series premire? This has always puzzled me.

Scott was (I read that somewhere) starting college and decieded to left the show, therefore his character was written out.

You'r eright, Scott Weiger was written out at the end of season 7. He did not return until he made an appearence on the final episode.

If Vicky and Danny would have gotten married it would have runined the purpose of the show.

I'm actually glad they got rid of Vicky, she didn't have much of a personality at all. She was just simply the woman Danny was engaged too. I think she was the dullest charachter Iv'e ever seen on a TV show. The only "moment" she ever really had on the show was in the episode when she decided to cook for everyody and made all that awful food, and Danny paid each of the girls $5 to eat it.
