Default My Episode Order for SBTB

When ever I'm not satisfied with the episode order of a show, I usually try and change it. This is the best I could come up with. Mostly I go by the production order, but when that doesn't work, I move around some of the episodes to make it work.

15. The Zack Tapes
16. The Friendship Business
17. Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind
18. Slater's Friend

Season 2: 1990-1991

21. The Prom
22. Blind Dates
23. From Nurse to Worse
24. Driver's Education
24. Save the Max
25. 1-900-CRUSHED
27. Rent-A-Pop

18. Marry Me
19. Wedding Plans

Season 1 saw Zack and Slater fighting over Kelly. The premiere of season 2 finds Zack and Kelly dating and Slater and Jessie dating. Season 3, is longer than the other seasons because it added non-school episodes. For those episodes, which are supposed to be mixed in with the others, it really doesn't matter where they go. But that's the order I put them in. The six beach episodes are last, since it's the summer. And the 4th season, I mixed in the Tori episodes along with the Kelly/Jessie episodes.

Also, it was easy to tell where the second season ends and the third season begins. The lockers change colors from red to orange. That was very helpful in helping me decide where to end the second season and begin the third.

Although the Palm Springs Weekend, didn't have to go along with the beach episodes, in the "Best Summer of My Life" episode, Zack includes those memories as part of his summer. So I put them along with the Summer episodes.

I skipped the Hawaiian Style movie, but it would go in between seasons 3 and 4. But since it was a movie, it doesn't go along with my episode list.

Maybe the next time I watch all of my sets, I'll go by your list. Usually I'm lazy and just watch however they're listed on the discs.

I've edited my list to include the "Miss Bliss" and "The College Years". They're both just the production order for those two series.

Adam, do you plan on posting an order for SBTB: The New Class season 3? When I watched the set I thought "He's gonna go crazy trying to put these in order!"

I still plan on it. However, I haven't gotten the season on DVD yet. I ordered it, but it hasn't come. I tried orderizing it from the episode guide, but I have to see the episodes to be sure. I take it, it's another season with an impossible order (like season 2)?

Even more so, because episodes with Tommy and Lindsey as a couple (Semester at sea episodes) were shot after the episode where they broke up. There was another reason it would be difficult, but I've forgotten it now.

Awesome...

Here they are in the order they were filmed (which is how they should have aired):

Season 1 ended with the mid-terms. So that wasn't the end of the school year. Both seasons 3 & 4 end with Christmas (or New Years) episodes. So it seems as though the seasons are only half the school year. Except for the final season, in which the gang graduate.

The way I orderize the show is to make sure all the relationships are in order. Like in "A Perfect Lindsay", the episode aired late in the second season. Yet in it, Rachel mentioned that she was still dating her boyfriend that was off at college. Clearly, by this point she had already dumped him. So I had to move that up to earlier in the season. This show is one of the worst for continuity's sake.

Adam, when you get a chance can you post all your episode orders for the seasons of The New Class that you have? I'm too lazy to work it out myself. On season 4, you'd put "Hospital Blues" before "The Final Curtain" right?

Thanks Adam. I was surprised to see Campaign Fever and Vote Screech so far apart in season 4. I just watched them back to back on the dvd and since they both had to do with voting and elections, I thought they went together.

But I have a question about season 2. Do the Country Club episodes not work all back to back, or should it alternate between school and country club episodes?

For the two voting episodes, I went with production order. Campaign Fever was filmed early in the season. I figured the two went together because it was around election time. That was fine for when it first aired, obviously, but I didn't think they needed to stay together for the rest of the time.

About season 2, they have to be alternating. Mainly due to Brian and Rachel's relationship. Their relationship was mixed together with the Country Club episodes and the school. In production order, all the Country Club episodes were filmed after the school episodes. But storyline wise, it doesn't work to view it that way. Also, Screech's girlfriend Allison gets mentioned in a school episode as being in New York. It's confusing but it's the only season like that. The rest of the trips can be together (Semester at Sea, Ski Lodge episodes, Paris episodes).

Example:

School episode - Brian and Rachel are not dating.
Country Club episode - Brian and Rachel are not dating.
School episode - Brian and Rachel are not dating.
Country Club episode - Brian and Rachel begin dating.
School episode - Brian and Rachel continue dating.
Country Club episode - Brian and Rachel are dating.

If that made any sense.

It makes sense. Next time I watch that season I'll pay closer attention to the relationship aspect in those episodes. I would prefer those country club episodes being grouped together.

I have some music video dvds that let you program the videos in the order you want them to play. It'd be good if they did that for tv show dvds, when they present episodes in an order that messes up the progression of the storyline.

So would I. I tried to pretend those were weekend episodes, but then they even say it's their summer and there was a 4th of July episode.

As for the DVD order, I'm very anal when it comes to episodes being shown in order. That's the main reason I've orderized this show the best I could come up with. There are some other shows I have my own order for.
