Default The times when the diner gets destroyed?

I think Mel's Diner was destroyed twice on the show. One of times was when Flo drives her boyfriend's Mack truck through the front, and the other time was when a wrecking ball went through the front. Didn't everything go back to being the same when they rebuilt the set like props and stuff? Maybe Mel didn't have insurance to get a new front built and new furniture and booths. LOL!

I always thought they rebuilt the set to exactly same. If they wanted to be authentic they would've brought in new props.

Wasn't the diner different in the pilot episode? It had a lot of western stuff in it.

Also a tree falls through the diner, and a hot-air balloon crashes through the roof.

I might remember the tree, but I can't remember a hot-air balloon. Wrecking the diner must've been a popular storyline on the show.

There was also an episode (don't remember the name) when this guy wanted to talk to Flo, but they locked him out of the diner. He had a group of strong men with him & they actually picked the front of the diner up so he could get inside & see her. At the end, Mel was like 'can you put my diner down, please?'

LOL! I was going to mention that one too - but the group of men were there to see JOLENE.

There was ALSO the time Mel left Vera in charge and although the structure was left intact, in the end, the tables were all overturned, the kitchen had caught fire, and the sprinklers had come on and destroyed everything.

Poor diner - but so resilient.

There was also one where they thought there was buried treasure
in the diner, and started digging holes in the floor in the storeroom.
Granted they didn't destroy a wall or ceiling like in the other episodes.

You have got to be kidding?? How ridiculous? Surely this was an episode of some long forgotten spinoff like, "Alice: The Animated Adventures". That is just STUPID.

Nope, it definitely was a real episode. Except it wasn't Flo, it was Jolene. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it should be from season 7, "Jolene and the Night Watchman". A muscle-bound watchman falls for Jolene. It has a bunch of guys with names like "Ox" and "Moose" and "Bull" as guests, so I'm guessing those are the guys that helped lift the diner wall. I do remember it as an episode, so he's not making it up Just not 100% sure if it's that one or not, without hunting my tapes down and looking for it.

I remember that one so well.

I too found it strange that the diner was always back to it's original "shape".
