What do you guys think I should do?

My mom gave me a savings account and a checking account for a separate bank than the one I had with my father. I have a problem. I used a some of the money to get out of near debt with the first bank(I have a savings account and I had exactly 300 dolllars, and if I went below that, I would have to pay 5 dollars service fee a month), so my mom gave me a Check and savings account and I used money from those accounts to put in the first bank. But the problem is, I spend a lot of that money on food(Lunch snacks), and my stepmother and father don't know what I have been wasting the money on, but my stepmother told me I basically have to pay for anything I need.(I squandered my money when I thought my stepmother and father would pay for whatever I needed, like they usually usually do, but now... I would never have squandered the money on lunch and other junk food if I knew this would happen. So now, I am thinking of closing my savings account(The one my mother gave me), and transferring that money to the checking account. should I do this? My mom told me when she gave me the check and savings account to spend the money wisely, so I don't think it would be a good idea to go crawling to her and tell her that I squandered some of the moeny on junk food. I want to lose weight, and my stepmother told me there is a program called Weight Watchers, but I would have to pay out of my own checking account. The service is over 130.00. if I use that Checking account money now, I will only have a little money left in my checking account and I also want to take driving lessons, which will be more money. So, should I take the money from savings and put it into the Check account? or maybe I can try to make money by buying cheap antiques from thrift stores and selling them at antiques stores for a lot of money. i heard someone bought an 8 track player for 8 dollars, and sold it at an antique store for about 1,000 dollars. That could really help me out. But, it's almost impossible to find 8 track players. I could sell by school books, but that would probably only give me about 40.00 Maybe I can find China plates at thrift stores and sell them to antique stores, but they'd have to be real old/valuable china..... I should never have spent that money on junk food!

how much did you spend on junk food? anyways I say put the savings money into the checking account because you'll actually be able to use it then. you don't make any interest with a checking account, but if you only have 300 dollars in th savings, the amount of interest you make wouldn't even be worth it.

Dude I don't know. It's a long post, and is written almost like one of those word problems. I always quit on those after awhile. Anyway, one I would say slow down on the junk food. Two, you may have to hold off on the Weight Watchers and driving lessons. Your parents won't pay for the lessons or Weight Watchers? I did that program for awhile, and my parents paid for it because they wanted to see me achieve my goal, so for them it wasn't wasting their money. Anway I don't know what to tell ya.

Try and keep as much money in the savings account as possible, that way if you don't keep a lot of money in the checking account you will be less likely to be writing checks for stuff that you don't really need. Find a job and keep adding more money to both accounts and lay off the junk food. Hold off on the Weight watchers/Drivers training until you have more money. At your young age you don't want to start getting into bad habits with money, bouncing checks and stuff like that. Change your spending habits now before you get yourself in a hole that you can't dig your way out of.
If you want to buy stuff at thrift stores and sell it for a profit, I would suggest selling it on E-Bay rather than at another store. More people will see the item you want to sell and you will get more money for it. I have a friend who buys old toasters and other appliances as well as old games at thrift stores for a few dollars apiece and then sells them on E-Bay for like 50/60 dollars, but you really have to know what your doing and do a lot of research to see how much this stuff is worth. As long as you can get a steady job and are able to afford to buy stuff at thrift stores, selling on e-Bay is a great way to make extra money on the side.

E-bay charges fees for every item you put up for sale. Make sure to read how much for each item so there are no surprises.

Ya - don't be trying to sell things. Stories like that don't happen every day - if anything, an antique dealer will UNDERCUT the price of an item so that THEY can mark it up and sell it for top dollar.

Just get a job of some sort. It will also show maturity and that you're willing to take responsibility for your actions to make amends. If you're too young to work (I don't know your age), then go around your neighbourhood doing odd jobs - weeding gardens, mowing, cleaning things, paper route, etc. to earn cash.
