Default WTF Did Janet See In Phillip

His face looked like he got punched in the face into the street and got hit by a steem roller

Well, you have to understand (and I'm sure you do) that this is why most fans are totally ticked off at the way the series ended. The writers needed an out out for Janet and this is what they came up with.

He seemed to genuinely like her and be all defiant in front of the family- a sitcom trademark device to indicate love. So maybe we are supposed to believe he saw her for a genuinely sweet person and she saw him for someone who believed in her.

In the words of Janet: "You are a male shovinist oink! Oink Oink Oink!" Just because Janet was older, doesn't mean that she felt she had to get married to the first guy she met! Give me a break! You think when women reach a certain age they become "old maids" and that's a load of crap!

My guess is that the producers were too caught up in starting "Three's A Crowd" that they didn't think about even finding a nice looking actor to play Phillip.

I think he was so icky too!!! Just like the other Icky! He was no where near handsome maybe a nice guy but that was all. I think the producers were way to into TAC that they didn't care about anything else....take Terri for example ...she didn't even get a good ending w/someone to spend the rest of her life w/!!! The ending sucks!!

Thats pretty much what they did. Terri got the short end of the straw in the final. She didn't even mention she was going to Hawaii until the last 15 minutes and it came out of the blue. Larry and Furley didn't even have it as good as her. Furley was left at the apartment alone and who knows where Larry went. He appeared on Three's A Crowd but it never mentioned what he had been up to. If he and Furley were still living at the apartment building it made no sense that they didn't visit Jack's Bistro since they had always visited there on Three's Company.

Larry did visit Jack once in "Three's A Crowd" in the episode "Deed's Of Trust", but Furley never did. I agree, it didn't make sense that Furley never visited, and that Larry only visited once.

Maybe Don Knotts didn't want to guest star on TAC maybe? Who knows..

The way I read it back then was that the whole cast was fired except for John Ritter and Richard Kline would make guest appearances. Of course he only guest starred once before TAC was canceled. Also I read in an article that if TAC got renewed Vicki and Jack were slated to get married in the opening episodes of season 2.

The thing that was so horrible to me is what I read about in the TC book. At the beginning of the last season, before they started shooting, they gave the cast a 2 week vacation. When they came back, John Ritter, Mary Cadorette and Robert Mandan were already rehersing for TAC on the TC set. Joyce, Priscilla, Richard and Don hadn't even been told that it would be TC's last season. John had nothing to do with it though and he apologized to his cast mates. The producers really pulled a dirty trick on the cast!

well i think hes totally gross too...she has dated better...not much...but it would have been good to see her with david winthrop if she couldnt be with jack...i mean come on, at least give the girl a nice, sweet, rich, hot guy...that likes her and has known her for a little longer...i mean at least we know who the heck he is!

and as for the guest starring roles on tac....i find it stupid that larry was the only one to do it....i mean janet did say that she would be in the same city...so why wouldnt she EVER see jack...were they or were they not best friends...come on...and like she would never go to his restaurant! ya right! that is so dumb! the whole ending sucked and they just like totally dropped the show at the end! very disappointing...but ill get over it..lol

Actually, Joyce did make one appearance on TAC. She came to the apartment to visit Jack if I recall correctly.

The E! THS had Joyce saying the same thing, coming back from vacation and seeing the new folks. Felt betrayed.

Sure Philip was no Brad Pitt, but looks aren't everything. And did anyone notice that Philip's best man was at the will reading, the pompous tennis player who said "Here for the grab bag, too?" As some have said, the TC finale seemed rushed and they probly said "We need a best man! Call the tennis bum!"
