Hey guys! I've started writing this story here at home, but instead of writing it all by myself, I thought it would be neat to get help from you guys! This story is about Diane Brewer. Diane is Terri's best friend from back home in Massachusetts. Diane has been through a horrible thing in her life, but she has told no one. Terri notices how upset Diane is, so she invites her to stay with her, Jack & Janet in their apartment. Even though Diane won't share her secret about what happened to her, she does tell Terri that she is through with men forever. Terri hopes to change her mind with the help of Jack, Janet, Larry and Mr. Furley. This is not a Jack & Janet story, but don't kill me guys! LOL! Jack & Diane will fall in love in the end, but it will take a LONG time for Diane to trust men again. I'm going to play Diane, because she's basically me in character form. I put a lot of myself into her. I'm going to assign the other parts. Here's what we need:

Jack
Janet
Terri
Larry
Mr. Furley.

We may need other parts along the way. If you're interested, let me know!

Hmm, I like this idea! I'm still torn between wanting to play Jack or Janet..I don't really know if I want a main part, though...hmmm...I'll have to think it over....let everyone else take their parts first

(Kate would probably love to do Larry!)

I know Jack will be a big role, but I don't know about Janet. She may be more of a smaller role in this story.

Ok great! Now we just need Jack, Janet and Mr. Furley. Mr. Furley's part is a smaller one, so if no one comes up wanting it, any of you are welcome to take it on as a second part.

Well, it looks like all we need now are Jack and Mr. Furley. Hopefully we can get started later today if someone volunteers for those parts. Jack is a major character in this story, so we couldn't start without him.

Diane got off the airplane and picked up her luggage at the gate. Her best friend Terri Alden was going to pick her up at the airport and take her back to her apartment where she would be staying for a while. She and Terri had talked on the phone a few days ago and she told her friend that life just wasn't going well for her.

Diane lived alone on a large farm where she raised Thoroughbred horses and trained them for racing. She managed to keep up a home and run the farm single handedly. Life had been wonderful for her 2 years ago. Her farm was doing well, her family was happy, and she was engaged to her long time boyfriend, Jake Moore. Then, there was that horrible night that changed her life forever. That night made her feel vulnerable and weak, and she was determined never to let it happen again. She had never told anyone about what happened that night, not even Terri. It was just too painful to remember. Ever since that night, she had sworn never to love or trust a man again. She had accepted the fact that she was going to be single for the rest of her life and she quite enjoyed it, except for one thing, children. Diane loved children, but she knew that being single ment never having any of her own and that crushed her. Still, she was determined to make it through life alone.

She sat down in the lobby to wait for her friend. She looked down at her watch and figured that Terri would be arriving shortly. When she looked up, she saw Terri running towards her with open arms, and she smiled at her friend.

"Diane!!!" shouted Terri happily. "Wow, you look great! You finally made it to LA, huh?" Diane had put on a smile but Terri knew it was fake; she mentally noted to ask Diane about it later. "Terri, how are you? Oh, how I have missed you!" replied Diane. "Terri, whaddaya say we go to your place? I am really tired. I think the jetlag is already getting to me!!" Terri and Diane walked to her beat-up old car in the parking lot. When they got in, they caught up on everything. "Diane, I was so happy when I got your call, I have missed you so much," Terri felt embarassed that her car was so dirty. She just bought it, and i t was already giving her problems. When they reached the apartment Terri said," You are going to love my roomates. I have been living with them for six months and I feel like I knew them forever!! There names are Janet Wood and Jack Tripper," Terri was amazed to see surprise on Diane's face. "As in---Mr. Jack Tripper?" asked Diane getting out of the car. "Yes," replied Terri, and to her surprise Diane sat right back in the car.

The fact that she was going to be around a man day in and day out for the next few months didn't sit well with Diane. "Terri, I'm sure that Jack is a nice guy and I'm sure you enjoy having him around, but you know how I feel about men. This is going to be a very uncomfortable situation for me, especially if he's one of those guys who's out with a different girl every night and he thinks that it's impossible for a woman to live alone the way I do." Diane tried to be nice, but she was a little upset about having a male roomate after what had happened in her past. Memories of that night came flooding back, but she pushed them away. She didn't want to remember that night, after all, that was the night that she vowed never to love or trust a man again. She had closed her heart permenantly.

On the ride to Terri's apartment, Diane was silent. She was in deep thought about her new living situation.
