I'm gald someone else is a fan of this show.

I just watched tonight's and I loved it. I'm glad they're showing the episodes in the order that Joss Whedon intended.
I believe Sci Fi is going to air all the episodes that never had a chance to air on FOX.

A great series that never got it's fair shake. I'm also looking forward to the big screen movie. I saw the trailer in the theater last week and I thought it was great.

I loved the show - while I didn't get to watch it when it was aired, it is my favorite DVD set. I'm actually glad that I missed Fox's hack job; the DVD was awesome.

Hope the movie does well, so that someone (USA, Sci-Fi, HBO?) will want to work with JW to bring it back as a short-season series.

I read that if the movie does well, they have a deal to do sequels.

I have been a huge Buffy/Angel fan, so I was always curious to see Firefly, but I was working retail hell when it came on and I forgot to tape the first two episodes, so I decided I'd wait until summer reruns.... little did I know that summer reruns weren't to be.

Firefly and Earth2 are two prime examples of why the real market for sci-fi shows these days are on either The Sci-Fi Channel or syndication, networks like NBC and Fox just don't have the patience to let sci-fi shows find their audiences anymore.

I saw the first episode and liked it, I am glad that Sci-Fi is going to air the show in the order it was meant to be seen. And it's also great that deprived Firefly fans already know for sure a movie IS coming out in the fall. There is also a rumored Buffy/Angel movie coming one of these days, David Boreanez was the last holdout and he finally said that he'd do it asap if Joss Whedon came up to him and asked.

Seriously, if you get the chance to borrow or rent the DVD set, and have a couple of evenings to spare, sit back and watch it. While it wasn't an 'all-time classic', it was a well-written and -acted show (sound like anything else JW has been involved with? ) and is head-and-shoulders above most anything else on the air right now.

As far as a Buffy/Angel movie is concerned, I sort of *don't* want to see one happen - it almost certainly won't live up to the standards and strengths of either series. Most TV shows made into movies don't (i.e. - The X-Files). Firefly has less of a problem in this regard because it was never given a chance to insinuate itself into our collective cultural consciousness.

I do believe James Marsters said he would do a "Spike" movie if it was within the next 5 years. The movie would be about "Spike's" past.

I thought I would bump this thread back up to remind you Firefly fans that the Sci Fi CHannel is running a massive Firefly marathon today (9/27) so set your VCR's or recorders. It starts at 11:58 AM EST.

Looking forward to seeing the movie on friday.

I had watched the FIREFLY series on Fox for a while but lost interest shortly
before the network cancelled it. Then, when I learned that Joss Whedon was
bringing it to the big screen, as "SERENITY" and the Sci-Fi channel began
showing the episodes in the order they were meant to be seen, I decided to
give it another try. I was immediately hooked! I didn't realize how good this
show was (until it was presented properly). Great cast, good stories. I haven't
had a chance yet to see the movie but am looking forward to it.

Me Too! I loved "Serenity." Hopefully, there will be a sequel, but I doubt it.
