Yes it was solved. Here's an article from 1999, apparently L.S. Shoen committed suicide.

Aw, thats sad I didn't know he committed suicide. Most of his kids are nothing but ungrateful brats!!!
Yes, Eva Shoen's murder was eventually solved. It aired on A&E's Cold Case Files and the man's name was Frank Marquis. Here is an article about it: http://www.crimelibrary.com/criminal...4.html?sect=21 |

Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege, and Justice had an episode on this called Terror in Telluride. It gives much more detail about the relationships in the Shoen family. It can easily be found on a certain video site.

The D. Dunne show also made a reference to Unsolved Mysteries and credits UM with finding Eva Shoen's murderer. They also leave open the possibility that Frank Marquis was hired by the Shoen brothers to get at Sam and L.S.

Police still hold to the random break-in murder theory because Marquis broke into several other homes in that same area at the time of the Shoen murder. Oddly, enough this case was little more than an afterthought (as a UM segment) until I saw it featured on Dunne's show (I watched the episode on YT). Am I the only one that gets excited when a UM case is profiled on another program? I still want to see the Amy Billig episode of American Justice (or whatever show it was also featured on). |
