Default Suzanne Somers SNUBS John Ritter's MEMORY Why She's Not on the DVD Ego & Greed!

From this week's GLOBE tabloid (July 18, 2005):

Breaking News
SUZANNE SOMERS SNUBS JOHN RITTER TRIBUTE
The Final Insult

"Three's Company" siren and diet/exercise diva Suzanne
Somers coldly refused to join her former TV colleagues
in paying a touching tribute to beloved funnyman John
Ritter -- because show execs wouldn't give in to her
latest staggering demands!

The interviews, hosted by John's kindhearted co-star
Joyce DeWitt, celebrate the life and work of the late
actor and humanitarian. John died suddenly from an
aortic aneurysm just hours after collapsing on the set
of his hit ABC series, "8 Simple Rules," on Sept. 11,
2003.

But self-promoting jiggle
queen-turned-Thighmaster-guru Somers -- who played
ditsy, sweet Chrissy Snow to Ritter's klutzy Jack
Tripper on the sexy '70s hit
-- threw a wrench into the works. She refused to pay
her DVD respects unless execs gave her unlimited use
of the valuable "Three's Company" scene clips for
use in her new autobiographical Broadway show.

"Suzanne was repeatedly asked to remember the good
times and pay respects to John and his Emmy-winning
work," an insider close to the show tells GLOBE. "She
knew that Joyce and the other cast members were
honoring John in individual interviews. But she just
wasn't interested unless the show's producers accepted
her terms.

"It's still all about money, her ego and her
manipulation of the media."

Sources say Somers' newest holdout is greedy,
exploitative and manipulative. "This is so typically
self-serving of Suzanne, and so pathetic, especially
considering John's outpouring of concern for her when
she announced in 2001 she had breast cancer," a source
close to the show tells GLOBE. "If she hadn't
survived, he never would've put a business deal, an
act of vanity or an old grudge ahead of honoring her
memory.

"I can't believe she's actually put a price on sharing
her love for him."

SEE THE WHOLE STORY IN THE LATEST ADDITION OF THE GLOBE with JOHN F KENNEDY JR. and PRINCESS DIANA ON THE COVER

Thats strange to be written now, I guess the DVD producers tried again to get her on the set (considering interviews were on Season 2 and Season 3, we are now coming upto 5).

Suzanne really is quite pathetic, I know some people here really hate here but this is just the lowest thing I have ever seen. I mean she could just send a tape, she wouldn't need to see any TC crew/cast if she did not wish - I mean in Chris Mann's book she said she acted wrongly, and now she's doing it again. pfft.

When it says show producers? Who do they mean, are Bernie West and Mickey Ross still alive? I didn't see them on the DVD sets so I thought they must not be. Unless they are talking producers incharge of production, Don Taffner and Ted Bergmann? I am kinda lost.

She really makes me sick . I bet Joyce DeWitt is livid, although she's probably not surprised. I wouldn't meet her demands that's for sure. Who needs her.

Well, I know for a fact that is the reason she is not on the DVDs. Chris Mann has informed us of this already.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Suzanne Somers=Bitch. That's all there is to it. John bent over backwords for her and this is the thanks he gets. I'm thinking of writing her a letter and telling her how I feel!

You know, I was trying to be nice and give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe this article isn't true, but after pavanbadal just confirmed it is, honestly, it really doesn't surprise me. This just goes to show that she really hasn't changed. In the E! True Hollywood Story, she says that if she could of done what she did differently now, she would. That's bologna, because if that was true, then she wouldn't be asking the producers to meet her demands just to honor John Ritter's memory!! She really is a selfish person. I KNOW, that if it had been her (remember, she did have breast cancer) John would of been MORE THAN WILLING to honor her memory on the DVDs, no strings attached. John was so nice to her, he even reconciled with her after the disaster she caused for him and the rest of the cast, and according to her, she loved him (so she's said in many interviews after his death) and this is how she honors his memory?? Please, give me a break.

You've said it all perfectly, Cassandra. When someone you love dies, REGARDLESS of any prior fueds, if you love them you'll always honor their memory without asking for anything in return. Hell, I know I'd do it for someone I even knew casually...it's called respect and love. For someone who worked with him for several years and considered him a close friend at one point in her life, she really treated his memory like dirt.

I really love the "Chrissy" character but I disrespect Suzanne more and more each day, the more I learn how her true character.

May you rest in peace, John.

Most of the things that the Globe prints are false. Although knowing what went on with her and why they cunped her from the show, I can totally believe this one.. Some people have no class.
