Default Least Favorite Episode

We all talk about the episodes that we love the most. Are there any episodes that are your least favorite? Or episodes that weren't really up there for you?
*This is just out of curiosity*

As for me, I can't really think of any off the top of my head. But there's very few in that category.

There is one that I can think of right now and that is "Lucy goes to Scotland". That is the one where she dreams of being in Scotland and being the last Mc Guilicudy and being eaten by the two headed dragon. Ugh! That was awful! I hate to say it but when I watch my European episode tape set I skip that everytime. I can't believe the writers couldn't come up with something better than that.

I know exactly what you mean...this is the ONLY episode of I Love Lucy that I don't watch...any other episode, I can watch any time! But I've never liked the Scotland episode.

Looking back, it's amazing that a show of such consistently high quality came up with that one... did the writers go on strike or something?

I know what you mean. I don't know about the writers going on strike but somebody was smoking something and it wasn't Phillip Morris!

I love Scotland! It was unusual for the show to make such a big production with musical numbers. Desi wearing a kilt is yummy too; what a brave guy!

Do any of u think that episode was bad b/c of how everything was acted out? Not necessarily b/c of what the writers wrote? I'm sure there's many possibilities.

Could it be possible that the cast was told to act out the script in a certain way? Maybe the writers had something else in mind that was different. It could've been the way everything was acted out that made the episode bad. I'm just taking some guesses lol.

Yeah, I don't really like the Scotland one either. But I can't really think of any episode that was truly awful.

I disagree with that. The cast got together to rehearse and the music was what put the episode together. If the writers or the cast had something else in mind, they would've written something else instead. Desi knew that if there was something that wouldn't be funny or appropriate they would change it just for Lucy. There are many examples of musicals these days with great results (Evita, Chicago)

A least favorite of mine would be 'Drafted'.

I remember that episode...doesn't seem to be shown as often as some others...

One thing that cracks me up about that ep is when Ethel is knitting socks or something for Fred, and Fred finds the socks and thinks Ethel is pregnant! It's especially funny knowing how much they hated each other...

But I think you're right, that wasn't one of their better episodes.

That would've been a whole new twist to inmaculate conception
I read somewhere that at first they got along good until Bill heard Vivian making a comment about him behind his back. They had a perfect screen chemistry even after this incident.

I don't like the episodes with Tennesse Ernie Ford. His accent is so annoying to me.

Yeah I heard about that to. They were definately great on screen together. Were there any other reasons why they disliked each other or was it just because of that one incident? I think I've heard of some other things that happened with Bill drinking a lot. I'm not completely sure.

I think that was the main reason. Before getting the ILL job, Desi made Bill promise to stay away from alcohol during working hours but that he would've been more than happy to split a bottle afterwards. Bill kept his promise; his only clause was to be able to attend baseball games when the Yankees were playing.
