Almost exactly the same way. I was a big fan of three's company. When I saw the ads that said Family Ties was coming to Nick at Nite I pretty much ignored them, but then I started watching it during the marathon and became a fan.

Good that you became a "Ties" fan, but you don't have to ditch "Three's Company". That's what makes the line-up on N@N so great, "Cheers" for an hour, "Ties" for an hour, "3's Co." for an hour. Awesome!

We must've all been on the same psychic wavelength or something *grin*. Practically the same thing happened to me.

I've been a regular watcher of Nick At Nite for years now...I first discovered them when I was looking for good 1960's shows to watch. When they first converted to mostly 1980's shows I was rather disappointed at first, but then I started watching some of them (Facts of Life, Three's Company) and discovered they actually weren't so bad. When they announced they're two newest shows, "Cheers" and "Family Ties", I *too* thought "Great, two more stupid 1980's shows to take the place of 1960's shows." Anyway, I ended up watching both the Cheers and Family Ties marathons. I'm *still* not impressed by Cheers, but I did grow to like Family Ties. It wasn't until I watched "A My Name Is Alex" the other night that I *really* became a fan . Good topic starter!

Peace,
Manda

I always really liked Michael J. Fox on Spin City and when I found out he had done another sitcon I HAD to watch it. Ever since the first episode I absolutely loved everything about "Family Ties", especially Alex.

Always funny to find someone who discovered "Family Ties" second to any of Fox's other work. I've been watching the guy since I was 6 years old and always wondered what it would have been like to see "Ties" for the first time nowadays. Or someone who discovered "Cheers" after watching Danson on "Becker". Interesting, since they became so famous from their earlier work.

Actually, after looking Michael up on www.imdb.com, I actually grew up with his movies, and I didn't even know it...Homeward Bound, for example, was my favorite movie for the *longest* time when I was younger, and just now do I find out that he did the voice of Chance! And I used to love the BTTF movies when I got a little older, and, of course, he also starred in them. Funny, isn't it? I just recently discover this incredibly talented actor, and now I find out I grew up with him on the TV, and I had no clue it was him...

Peace,
Manda

Thumbs up

Well I was a very HUGE fan of "The Facts of Life" which was on Nick @ Nite. Well then stupid N@N decided to take off "The Facts of Life" and I stopped watching N@N. Then I found out that "Family Ties" was gonna be on N@N in the fall. I thought it looked pretty stupid, but I decided to watch an episode since I've always liked Michael J. Fox. I watched it and I started to love it! Then I kept watching it and watching it and now it's my favorite show! Justtine Bateman is the best!!!!!!!

OK, well for a few months I really liked Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future, so I wanted to other shows/movies that he was in. So I went online and it said that he was on a show called "Family Ties." It didn't say what it was about, but since he was in it I really wanted to see it! That night I was watching "Three's Company" on Nick at Nite and I saw commericial for this show that was coming to N@N. It didn't say the name of it yet. I saw guy(it was Alex) on the commericial holding a baby(it was Andy). I thought it looked like MJF and I thought to myself that maybe this could be that show Family Ties. But then I thought, no way it cant be. I was kinda far away so I couldn't really tell. At the end it said that it was Family Ties and it would be coming to Nick at Nite this fall. I was so happy! I couldn't wait. During the next few months I was just happy to see a commercial for Family Ties coming to N@N. I remember the day it first came on. It was September 23. It was the Quiz Off episode and I loved it! And I've been a fan ever since.

Ok, I became a fan almost the same way you all did! I used to LUV the Facts of Life! When they took it off I wuz sooo mad, and I was angry that they were gonna replace it! At first I didn't even wanna see FT because first off I neva heard of it, and thought it wouldnt be good. Then mid-way in the marathon I turned on by accidant, and it was the one where Elyse had her baby! I thought it was soooo good, and I just LUVED everything about Alex! Along wit him being the cutest guy I eva saw on TV, his caracter also reminded me a lot of myself. So, I kept on watching it, and became an instant Family Ties and Alex P. Keaton fan! I wuz a little irritated when they put FT on at 11 and Cheers on at 10 (I used to go to bed before 11) Then I changed my schedule to 12 just to watch it, and they had to put it on at 1! AHHHH!!!!! Not gonna change it that much! Well, I am just hoping they will put it on at a more watchable hour, but don't think they will! WAAAA! Well, maybe TVland will get a hold of it! They show all their shows sevral times a day, and repeate them! Oh, it would be so nice to see it at a watchable hour! Well, neway, enought about my ange twards N@N! At least I like the Cosby Show, but nope, im not a fan of Cheers. Don't like that show. Its boring!

Well, thats my story! Great topic! See ya'll later!!!

Alexis
