Default Let you be the director of a major motion musical, Picture.

Musicals Movies seems like there out, back in there hay day they were the "big in thing" Movies likeGrease,Flashdance,Footloose, I don't know if they consider them Musicals any more, but before Grease there was 'The Wizard Of Oz','Seven Brides For Seven Brothers' ETC. Well last year there was Chicago, which I did not see. But,If they ever did make another Musical what do you think it will be about and what kind of music, and who would be the stars off it. Let you be the director and producer, writer in this movie.

Well, there have been a few in the last five years like Save the Last Dance, Honey and Chicago. However, music/dance movies are not as popular as they once were.

Phantom of the Opera was great!!!If you count movies like Footloose and Save the Last Dance- where the soundtrack is great and inseparable from the movie, there are a lot more movies coming out counted as musicals. Go to www.moviemusicals.net for news on upcoming movie musical projects. Here's some I'm looking forward to, that are almost definitely happening (or definitely happening). The next 2 years will be big for musicals making a comeback:

1The Producers- Nathan Lane,Matthew Broderick,Uma Thurman- Great Songs!!
2 Rent- heard several songs and they're great!
3 Hairspray- only heard two songs- one was very funny
4 Sweeney Todd- Sam Mendes now confirmed to direct
5 Sunset Boulevard- Glenn Close and Ewan McGregor in talks to star
6 Dreamgirls- Jamie Foxx,Beyonce and Eddie Murphy cast so far.
7 Batboy the musical- John Landis directing

All these are the ones currently filming or very likely to continue further into production. Plus, Hugh Jackman is going to star in 3 musicals for Disney- one a remake of a classic, with the producers of Midler's Gypsy and Chicago.

Romance and Cigarettes is like Pennies from Heaven where characters lip-sync to songs- Christopher Walken's in this too!

I'd love to work on a musical- if I found the right material to musicalise (novel etc) and got some training in music-writing it'd be great to create a musical!

I am hopeful that musicals are making a comeback.

There was the year with Chicago and Moulin Rouge.
Phantom of the Opera last year
The Producers and Rent (which i am beyond psyched about) coming soon.

There seems to be a return to film adaptations of Broadway shows, so I'd guess that most new musicals will come from there and draw from the Broadway casts filling in with some newcomers.
