I just watched a 1986 episode of Golden Girls with Murray Hamilton (Uncle Roy). He looked so thin and frail! I looked him up on the web and found out that he died on Sept 1 1986 of cancer. Well. that episode of GG's must have been filmed earlier in 86. He must have been dying at that time. He looked so bad!

RIP Uncle Roy!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really didn't care for the Uncle Roy character...or that episode as a matter of fact. Any thoughts?

I wish they would of had Mama with a boyfriend.I wish they would have kept Mr.Hanson around.The last episode they could of gotten married.

Who did he play on GG? Did he play Blanches dad, Big Daddy or was it Roses Dad??

Actually he played a cop in one episode. He and George Clooney were on and they were both cops staking out the neighbors who were drug smugglers, I think.
He and Dorothy ended up liking each other but decided not to pursue it because his job was just too much for Dorothy to handle. His characters name was Al in Golden Girls.

I agree! That would have been a perfect ending for the series! She should have married that "Old Poop"!

I like that episode only because it was so different from the others. It showed Mama's vulnerable side! A change of pace!
