I love that Lifetime is showing the really, really old cases........i have not seen some of then since the original airing on NBC. I was so excited by the update that they convicted a guy for killing one girl and severely beating another in their laundry room in Rhode Island. Does anyone know anymore facts about this guy? Did he know one of these girls or did he just break into a random house? That case always freaked me out!!! I am so glad he is off the street.
Also, the case of the woman found in the burning car and her husband is convicenced it is murder. I totally agree with him....have they ever found anyone who might of been involved? Such a strange, strange case....but i think she was drawing a bath for herself and someone broke in and hurt her. Edited to add I just found this in an older message from Kane about the first case.... Yes. That was the 1982 murder of Doreen Picard. The other woman, Susan Laferte survived the assault, but had no memory of the attack. Ten years later, a man named Raymond "Beaver" Tempest, was arrest, tried and convicted of Picard's murder, and was sentenced to prison. (He wasn't charged in the assault of Laferte since the statue of limitations in that case had expired.) However, some DNA testing is slated to be conducted at some point because of claims that Tempest is innocent. The case was recently featured on a Discovery channel series called "Guilty or Innocent." Does anyone know anything further....who might of seen the program?? |

Oh my, if only half of the stuff in the first section of that thing is true, Beaver had nothing to do with this crime. Freaking coverup.

Tsk, tsk, tsk... Another raliroad job by police and prosecutors. The state of Illinois, which I live in, had gotten really good at railroading innocent people. Until DNA evidence exonerated a lot of people. If "Beaver" is innocent I hope he is released.

That is very interesting. What i don't understand is how did Beaver come into the picture if that other guy seemed to be guilty of this crime. Interesting. If anyone saw the discovery show please let us know your thoughts.

I think he is guilty. The little girl saw his face. You can disagree with me if you want to.

UM mentioned that her story changed a lot about the circumstances and that it changed so much that it was no reliable.
Besides, has she even been shown a picture of the other guy? Maybe he looks like Beaver? |
