Default Another Network Should Pick Up Family Matters

I wish some network would pick up Family Matters where it left off and have another season or more of Family Matters. Hopefully they could get all the original cast back together again on the show if their not involved in other things. It would be cool to see Steve and Laura get married. Anyone else agree?

I agree, it wouldn't be so bad seeing our old friends return to Television after 7 years. They did it with the Bradys in 1990, so it could work with FM too. Let's see by now I think Steve and Laura would be 28 or so, Eddie would be close to or right about 30. 3J and Richie would be Seniors in High School. Carl and Harriet would be older, but pretty much the same. Waldo could return from wherever he was after all this time and propose to Maxine. Carl could be the new Commishiner, since Comminishiner Gueiss passed away. Laura and Steve could have a child who is about 5 years old or so. Just a few thoughts

I would also like to see JoMarie Payton Noble (Harriette Winslow) and Telma Hopkins (Rachel Crawford) return to Family Matters if the show got picked up again.

You mean another network besides ABC Family should pick up Family Matters? I think ABCF owns the exclusive rights, not entirely sure about that or not, that's just a guess

No, I mean for another network to air brand new episodes of Family Matters. Family Matters got canceled by CBS in 1998. If Family Matters got picked up again by another network to air new episodes, that would be awesome. It would be great to see all the original cast back together again. Plus we could also see Steve and Laura finally get married on the show and have a real wedding. Maybe NBC could pick up the show for a tenth season or more of Family Matters since ABC and CBS both canceled Family Matters.

Well no offence or anything but I think it sounds a little unrealistic to have the show pick up right where it left off, when 7 years have gone by since its cancellation. It would however be nice to see an updated Family Matters, that would actually take place 7 years later with Steve and Laura already married. Carl as the Commishiner, and Eddie just getting promoted to Sargent. With Richie and 3J in their Senior year of High School.

NBC Already Sucks That Don't Need To Revive This, The Show Was Popular But It Wasn't A Huge Hit, Second Of All A Network Wouldn't Bring Back A Show 7 Years After It Got Cancelled, Like You Said About The Brady Bunch Came Back But It Was Under A New Name And It Bombed Same thing Would Probally happen With This, However I Think Your Idea Would Work For A TV Reunion Movie...

A reunion special does sound really good. It would be great to see all the original cast on the reunion special. I'm guessing if they have a reunion special that it would probably air in 2008 since Family Matters went off the air in 1998. Also I think it would be cool if they made a Family Matters movie with the original cast. The movie could be called: The Winslow Family. Anyone like that movie title?

I really don't think Family Matters should be picked up by another network. It's over and done. I don't think the cast is up for a reunion either. -_-

It certainly shouldn't come back as regular show picking up from where it left off, Family Guy just came back after a few yrs of being canceled, but that's different, it's a cartoon so they can easily pick up from where they left off. I wouldn't mind seeing a reunion movie, or a one-time tv special with the wedding of Steve and Laura.

Well you know if another network did pick it up, JoMarie Payton sure would not sign on to play Harriette Winslow.

I think JoMarie Payton Noble (Harriette Winslow) might decide to play on Family Matters again as Harriette Winslow. That was 7 years ago that she left the show because she was not being treated right and I don't blame her for leaving. But that was back than, this is now. No one could ever replace JoMarie Payton Noble. She will always be the one and only Harriette Winslow. I think it would be cool to have a Family Matters movie and a reunion special with all the original cast. That would be fun. I would hope that JoMarie Payton Noble (Harriette Winslow) would return to Family Matters if they had a movie and/or reunion special. I would also like to see Telma Hopkins (Rachel Crawford) return to Family Matters if they had a movie and/or reunion special. If they decide to make a Family Matters movie, I think they should have Steve and Laura finally get married and have her pregant. If they ever decide to make a second Family Matters movie, they could have Laura having her baby.

The answer is NO! "Family Matters" would not pick up the series on a different network for another season. As you probably know, ABC ended its run back in 1997 where CBS picked up the series for its ninth season until the show finally ended in 1998. ABC Family still has it in reruns as well as on WPIX (channel 11) on weekends for those of you are in or not around New York City would pick up the station especially if you have DirecTV or Dish.

But Myra and Mother Winslow wouldn't be in the reunion movie since they have both passed away.

Yeah, it would be kind of hard to start a new season so many years after the show ended. (Though it was done with "The Bradys.") The idea of a reunion movie wouldn't be too bad, except for the fact that we're lacking most of the cast. Jaleel White has said he never wants to play Urkel again. So unless he changes his mind about that, he wouldn't return. I would also like to see JoMarie Payton Noble return for the movie, but it seems unlikely. As for Michelle Thomas. They could possibly get another actress to play her. She'd be hard to replace though. And about the character of Mother Winslow, they could just say that she died rather than getting another 80-something year old lady to replace her. She wasn't in the last season at all (except for the Christmas ep). And there's Judy. I read on TV Tome that if a tenth season of "Family Matters" had been made, Judy would return played by Bianica Lawson. I'd like to see that in a movie. Just a few thoughts I have.
