Default Just noticing something..

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that when you see Jack sleep, his mouth looks like he's chewing something. I was just wondering if any of you knew why he does that. It drives me crazy because I was watching "Secret Admirer" (I think that was the episode), and Jakc is sleeping on the couch and he looks like he's chewing on food or something.

Yeah, I noticed that too! It looks like he's trying to resemble a sleeping baby or something

Same here! I'm terrible with it (its stress related). I've ruined several teeth because of it.

If you can - go to a drugstore and ask the pharmacist to help you - you can buy a mouth guard (also in sporting goods stores). If I'm particularly stressed out and think I'll be grinding, I put it in before I sleep. It does help. (Just don't try doing it on your honeymoon or anything or you're husband will think he married Mohammed Ali or something)!

Yeah, that's a good idea for the mouth guard. I really don't want to grind down my teeth at all.

How do you even grind your teeth in sleep? Never heard of people doing that but I was just wondering if that was a thing John actually did when he sleeps or if he was trying to be funny or something.

I think it's just a thing some people do in their sleep, similar to coughing, scratching, etc....I know I do it when I'm just sitting around-- I'll start clenching my jaw up and grind my teeth like there's no tomorrow. Some people do it out of habit and others do it out of stress....not sure if what John was doing was grinding for sure...I'd have to look at it real close, but even then it would be hard to tell if he was acting or not.

Ah..ok then. I remember in the movie "Letting Go", Sharon Gless's character was telling her boyfriend that he was grinding his teeth in his sleep again. I guess we will never know what John was doing.

Well I remember he did it in "My Sister's Keeper", "A Night Not To Remember", and "Secret Admirer".

Yah - I'll do it sometimes when I'm awake too - usually when I'm stressed.

I didn't believe my boyfriend (now husband) when he first told me. Apparently it can be quite loud too!! I can't picture that because I can't seem to make a noise doing it when I'm awake. Just shows how much pressure we're probably putting on our teeth and jaws in order to make a noise with it!

It's obvious that John did that on purpose. He added that to part of his character, and it was supposed to be funny.
