I have original NBC airings of all of the specials (including pre-Stack). I would like to put them on DVDR to trade/share, but I still need NBC airings of Specials 4 and 6. I already have the Lifetime versions, but I would prefer NBC broadcasts.
Special 4 was the first Stack hosted and had the Dave Davis case, the Dottie Caylor case, etc. Special 6 was about psychic Dorothy Allison. Anyone who assists me will get the finished product. Justin |

Heather - Yeah, I saw that as I was getting ready to leave for work. It has been edited. The opening, showing a slightly older Stack in a different location, didn't match the rest of the episode.

Are the specials the only episodes with the "fire red" (or pink depending how you look at it) openings - I thought they should have just stuck with that opening throughout the whole show - It looked like the logo was set on fire or something - really creepy!
Later. |

I do remember the first two (pre-Stack) had entirely different opening themes which included graphics showing still pictures of a hand holding a gun, a woman screaming, and a fire(?) in a weird mozaic type patten. By the time special three was made, they were using very similar, if not identical opening graphics to what you would see on Lifetime episodes from season one. However, the openings did not progress into the "Solved" montage. Hope this helps. |

I think I might have a vague recollection about the "red" opening being in a few of the first season episodes but that is about it - just a vague recollection. For those who are keeping score the first episode aired today - Special #4 is the first episode that "Lifetime" apparently has "permission" to broadcast and they followed it up with Special #5
Now wouldn't it be nice if tomorrow we had specials #6 & #7 and then they aried all episodes in order? Wouldn't that be cool? - won't happen though in my opinion. Later. |

Unedited Special 5 should have: Wanted: Missy Mundy and Jerry Strickland. Final Appeal: Micheal Scott Martin. Unexplained Death: Kurt McFall. Lost Loves: That elderly newspaper vendor (I forget his name). |

Just a heads up: Lifetime will be showing a newer epiode of Unsolved Mysteries (2001) at the 12pm slot today. According to their upcoming episodes though after this one new episode, they should show older ones for the rest of the month. Now, its anyones guess if they keep showing the very early ones or move on to another year. |
