Brand New Gary, Todd and Shavar interviews on UK TV! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

On Saturday night on British TV there was a programme on called "The Child Star Jinx." From what I read it was going to be mainly about movie actors but the trailer showed a quick picture of Gary and Dana so I thought I would watch and tape it incase it was any good.

It turned out to have brand new interviews plus rare footage such as Muhmamed Ali taking to Gary behind the set.

Although I didn't think Gary spoke about the show anymore- he did a bit and he called it a "poorly executed show." He was mainly taking about his dissapointment of being a child star. He was also wearing glasses in the interview.

Todd I thought looks quite a bit older than the last time I saw him- he didn't say much except defending himself by saying that he had only ever had 2 convictions.

Shavar Ross juat briefly spoke about Gary and Todd's experiences too. There was a short segment of Dana but not with any new info or footage.

gotta love how Gary always likes to talk bad about DS. He cites DS because he's typecast and is a hasbeen thanks to the show... but without DS, he'd be a never-was!

That is true- I don't think he would have gotten many roles because of his size other than DS so he wouldn't have been as famous as he became. He would have pronbably preferred that. In the interview he was saying that he wishes he had never been an actor at all and he would discourage anyone from going into it.

I think he doesn;t want to discuss DS because it's when he was a child and he wants people to see him as Gary the Man instead of Little Arnold from Diffrent Strokes or Gary Coleman from Diffrent Strokes

true, but everything he's done as a man has stemmed from his childhood. All the TV and movie cameo appearences he's made have been because "look it's Arnold".

If he wants to be taken seriously as an adult, good for him, but he needs to remember that Diff'rent Strokes is why people liked him in the first place. Ron Howard has had perhaps the best "child to adult star" career and he is not the least bit ashamed that despite Happy Days and all his directorial success, to many people he will always be Opie.

The funny thing was Gary Coleman played Arnold agai in 1996 on the Finale of Fresh Prince and even said "Whachoo Talkin bout Will?-lol And he was 26 at the time so I would think it would have not been interested in doing that again.

He is now 37. He was born February 1968, so in 1996 that would have made him 28 not 26.

He is 5 months older then Melanie Bernhardt, who played Kathy Gordon, girl in wheelchair.

They were both Born in 1968.

does anybody know next time that Fresh Prince episode will be on N@N? I'm not a big fan but I have always wanted to see the finale for the Diff'rent Strokes connection.
