Teletoon Unveils Fall Programming Hightlights

Starting Monday, August 29, 2005, twenty-eight (28) new shows, or returning series with new episodes, are coming to the network, including 13 brand new series, 9 of which are TELETOON Original Productions (including 2 one-hour specials); and 15 returning series with new episodes (3 are from Canadian producers) are finding their way back to the network.


Launching Monday August 29th, TELETOON invites all its kid viewers to its best fall season yet. With a total of 9 new kid titles (four TELETOON Original Production series, two TELETOON Original Production specials and three acquisitions), and eight returning series with new episodes, it promises to be a fantastic year for TELETOON, with a variety of programming that will entertain its many different viewers and offer them an “unreal” way to perk up their post-summer blues.“This fall, TELETOON is giving our kid viewers the best of animation, from our delightful TELETOON Original Productions to our popular acquisitions,” says Carole Bonneau, Vice-President, Programming, TELETOON. “We are proud that TELETOON continues to play a significant role in supporting the creation, development, and production of Canadian programs, while acquiring some of the best series from outside of Canada, to give our viewers a variety of programming that will create a perfect animation destination.”

New This Fall

This Fall, TELETOON viewers will get a little bit of everything from teenage clones, to supercool spies, to an 11-year-old girl with magical powers.

The TELETOON Original Production, Carl˛ (Carl Squared), which makes its World Premiere on Sunday, August 7th, at 7pm as a sneak peek presentation and airs regularly on Saturdays and Sundays at 7pm, beginning Saturday, September 3rd, is about 14-year old Carl Crashman, a slacker teen, who possesses his own secret clone. When Carl, a dude with a ‘tude, who accidentally orders his own clone online, is sent his physical duplicate – a clone known as C2, his life completely changes. Carl˛ is produced by Portfolio Entertainment Inc.

Delilah & Julius follows the thrilling adventures of Delilah and Julius, two stylish well-trained teen spies as they travel the globe stopping covert plots for world domination and taking down sinister villains using their wits and skills. This TELETOON Original Production makes its World Premiere as a sneak peek presentation on Sunday, August 14th at 7pm and airs regularly weekends at 4pm, beginning Saturday, September 3rd, catch Delilah & Julius saving the world, one crime at a time. Delilah & Julius is a co-production between DECODE Entertainment and Collideascope Animation Studios. The Life & Times of Juniper Lee, makes its Canadian premiere as a sneak peek presentation on Sunday, August 21st at 7pm and airs regularly Sundays at 5pm beginning Sunday, September 4th. Juniper “June” Lee, is a seemingly normal 11-year-old Asian-American girl, who is the Xuan Ze (pronounced Te-zuan-ze and means “the Protector”) and possesses magical powers to protect the world from unruly creatures like super-strong leprechauns and gnomes, a family honour and burden that has been passed down for generations.

TELETOON gets a “passion for fashion” this fall with the launch of Bratz. Based on the hugely popular collection of dolls, Bratz is filled with comedy, adventure, fun and lots of cutting-edge style and cool music. Bratz premieres on Sunday, September 4th at 5:30pm, and airs regularly Sundays at 5:30pm.

Alien Racers joins KAPOW!, TELETOON’S all-action programming block this fall, with action excitement, strong characters and a fascinating subplot of universe-shaking proportions. Based on the popular action figures the series premieres as a special 90-minute KAPOW! presentation on Sunday, November 6th, 10pm and airs regularly weekends at 11:30 am. Premiering in November, Planet Sketch, a TELETOON Original Production, brings to life the animation of the master-minds at Aardman Animation in this UK/Canada co-production. Planet Sketch consists of characters in a rapid-fire high-energy format which will grab the attention and tickle the funny bone of its young audience. Planet Sketch is a co-production of Aardman Animation and DECODE Entertainment.

For the younger set, TELETOON offers Gerald McBoing Boing; which premiers Monday, August 29th at 3pm and airs regularly weekdays at 3pm. Gerald McBoing Boing is a TELETOON Original Production and is based on the book by Ted Geisel, the creator, who came to be known as Dr Seuss, about a six-year-old boy who doesn’t speak but uses sound to communicate instead. Gerald McBoing Boing is produced by Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc.

Favourite Series with New Episodes

TELETOON has new episodes of favourite series this fall, including two new specials! Catch all the latest and greatest of these new seasons.

6TEEN, the TELETOON Original Production series launched in November 2004, is back with more laughs, and a special one-hour presentation this fall. Catch this group of six best friends as they try to make it through their first part-time jobs and life as teens, in new episodes premiering Sunday, October 9th, at 6pm. The series airs regularly weekdays at 7pm, with a new episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on Sundays at 6pm. Launching the new season is the special "Dude of the Living Dead", premiering Saturday, October 1st at 4pm, with an encore presentation on Sunday, October 2nd at 6pm. When The Galleria Mall is overtaken by the undead as a deadly virus hits, turning everyone into flesh biting zombies, will the gang, used to pushy customers and annoying bosses, be able to save their hangout, and themselves? 6TEEN is produced by Nelvana Limited.

Kids unite on TELETOON, as five eager 10-year-olds join forces against adulthood on behalf of children everywhere, and fight for the right to enjoy all the fun things in life. TELETOON presents Season III of Codename: Kids Next Door starting Wednesday, August 31st at 5:30 pm. The series airs regularly weekdays at 5:30pm, with a new episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on the weekends at 7:30am.

Courage the Cowardly Dog, the animated series about a fuschia dog named Courage and his owners Muriel, a kindly old woman, and Eustace, a mean and nasty old farmer, living in a house in the town of “Nowhere”, returns to TELETOON in season IV, premiering Saturday, November 5th at 1:30pm, the series airs regularly on the weekends at 1:30pm. TELETOON presents new blundering adventures of an unlikely hero who somehow always manages to come out on top, as Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2 Century reports back to duty, this fall, premiering Wednesday August 31st at 4:30pm. The series airs regularly weekdays at 4:30pm with a new comedyadventure episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on the weekends at 8:30am.

Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, is an animated comedy about friendship, adventure and fun among a motley crew of humans and imaginary friends who live together in an orphanage. TELETOON launched the series in March 2005, and is presenting new episodes this fall, starting Wednesday August 31st at 6pm (ET/PT). The series airs regularly weekdays at 6pm with a new episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on the weekends at 9am. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, makes its Canadian premiere as a sneak peek presentation on August 28, at 7pm; starting September 1st, the series airs regularly Thursdays and Fridays at 8:30pm. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy centers on two young kids, happy-golucky, dumb-as-a-stump Billy, and cynical, deadpan Mandy, who become best friends with the Grim Reaper after beating him in an otherworldly limbo contest.

KAPOW! returns this season with new episodes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiering Saturday, September 3rd, starting at 11am. TMNT airs regularly weekends at 11am, and Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30pm. Catch other KAPOW! action series on weekends including The Batman (10am), MEGAS XLR (10:30am) and MEGAMAN AXCESS (11:30 am). The globe-trotting, mystery-solving, Great Dane, is back with season III of What’s New Scooby Doo?, starting Wednesday, August 31st at 5pm. The series airs regularly weekdays at 5pm, with a new episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on the weekends at 8am. Based on Louis Sachar’s best selling book series, the TELETOON Original Production one-hour special, Wayside features teetering tales and quirky characters from the thirtieth floor of towering Wayside School, in a Nelvana production scheduled to air this November. Wayside, features the voice talent of Kathy Najimy (King of the Hill, Veronica Mars), and Canadian actor Michael Cera (Arrested Development) with Canadian pop-star Sky Sweetnam, performing the theme song to the special. Wayside is produced by Nelvana Limited.

Teletoon , the network that destroyed Cardcaptor Sakura has the nerve to BOAST about its lineup?? You're an embarrassment to Canadian TV, YTV did it first and ( a lot ) better, dry up Teletoon, youre a waste of $ on my cable bill!! ( nice how you disabled the email on your "Cardcaptors"< UGH! page, couldnt take the well deserved hate mail huh? cowards! )
