Question The Date Survey - Do you date?

I found this on another forum....

-0. Did you ever date and how often? If not: would you ever consider it?

-1.When was the first time you dated (which age)?

-2.What was the last time you dated?

-3.What is your best memory of a date?

-4.What is the worst memory of a date?

-5.What is the funniest memory of a date?

-6.Do you dare to ask someone for a date?

-7.If someone asks you for a date, will and did you always accept the offer?

-8. WHERE do you ASK someone to go out with you on a date?

-9. Which PLACE do you date finally? Do you search for a specific location? Where and what? (This question is interesting to get ideas for yourself of the experience of others!!)

-10. How do you prepare for a date? Are you nervous? Do you wear special clothes? Do you ask friends for advice? Do you date secretly, or do your friends and family know it?

-11.Did you ever blind-date? Without seeing a picture AT ALL. or even: without knowing ANYTHING of the person AT ALL? If not: would you consider doing it, f asked?

-12.Did you ever date after meeting someone at the Net? If not: would you consider doing it?

-13. Do you always arrange dates yourself, or do some friends interfere as well, arranging dates for you?

-14. What are the results of your date(s)? Did it end up in a friendship/ a relationship?

Note: If you are with someone now: just use the past tense.

-0. Did you ever date and how often? If not: would you ever consider it?
No. I have never dated. *blush* Yes, I would consider it now because I am ready for it. I wasn't all through most of my 20s, but I am now. I just choose not to "date" anyone, though.

-1.When was the first time you dated (which age)?
N/A

-2.What was the last time you dated?
N/A

-3.What is your best memory of a date?
N/A

-4.What is the worst memory of a date?
N/A

-5.What is the funniest memory of a date?
N/A

-6.Do you dare to ask someone for a date?
Yes, and I have done it twice. The first time was with a guy who I unknowingly knew was gay until he told me about it. He was nice and said he was "honored." The second guy isn't into dating at the moment, but he has emailed me. We have been keeping in touch as friends via MSN instant messenger. We've not seen each other in person since late April 2005 when I asked him out. Not sure what the future brings, but I am not going to push anything. Whatever happens will happen.

-7.If someone asks you for a date, will and did you always accept the offer?
I have been asked out once, but it was a guy who I did not like. It's kinda complicated for me to reason about it. I backed off, and I know he took it personally because I see him on-and-off at work (he works here now at another department) and won't really look me in the eye. I'm not bothered by it. My reason stays my reason...period.

-8. WHERE do you ASK someone to go out with you on a date?
The last guy I asked out (the one I am keeping in touch with) was to have coffee.

-9. Which PLACE do you date finally? Do you search for a specific location? Where and what? (This question is interesting to get ideas for yourself of the experience of others!!)
N/A - That was, of course, a no-go, but that's what my plan was.

-10. How do you prepare for a date? Are you nervous? Do you wear special clothes? Do you ask friends for advice? Do you date secretly, or do your friends and family know it?
N/A, but I think I would be nervous.

-11.Did you ever blind-date? Without seeing a picture AT ALL. or even: without knowing ANYTHING of the person AT ALL? If not: would you consider doing it, f asked?
Noooo.... I don't think I could do this.

-12.Did you ever date after meeting someone at the Net? If not: would you consider doing it?
No. My latest one was seeing each other in person, talking in person, asking him out in person, giving him my contact info and person... wait, wait, and more waiting for 11 days, and then I hear from him via email and MSN IM since then. So it's been about 10 weeks in total.

-13. Do you always arrange dates yourself, or do some friends interfere as well, arranging dates for you?
N/A

-14. What are the results of your date(s)? Did it end up in a friendship/ a relationship?
Mine is more like kinda opposite, in a way... Asking him out, friendship, and who knows about the future... He KNOWS I like him, but I am not sure about his feelings for me. I get the impression he isn't into dating right now... But there is no dating here. Who knows about later???

Note: If you are with someone now: just use the past tense.

-0. Did you ever date and how often?
Yes. About once a month, maybe twice.

-1.When was the first time you dated (which age)?
15

-2.What was the last time you dated?
last Friday

-3.What is your best memory of a date?
First kisses are always nice.

-4.What is the worst memory of a date?
getting a ride home from mom, cause I'm cool like that.

-5.What is the funniest memory of a date?
Little things that come up in conversations, can't really be described.

-6.Do you dare to ask someone for a date?
Better to strike out than to never play the game.

-7.If someone asks you for a date, will and did you always accept the offer?
I have, but I wouldn't always.

-8. WHERE do you ASK someone to go out with you on a date?
In school for the most part, maybe at a party.

-9. Which PLACE do you date finally? Do you search for a specific location? Where and what? (This question is interesting to get ideas for yourself of the experience of others!!)
Dinner-movie, movie-dinner. I haven't really strayed away from that.

-10. How do you prepare for a date? Are you nervous? Do you wear special clothes? Do you ask friends for advice? Do you date secretly, or do your friends and family know it?
I try and look my best, and always try to dress nice. I don't go parading around telling people, but I'm not secretive over it.

-11.Did you ever blind-date? Without seeing a picture AT ALL. or even: without knowing ANYTHING of the person AT ALL? If not: would you consider doing it, if asked?
I haven't, but I think I would.

-12.Did you ever date after meeting someone at the Net? If not: would you consider doing it?
I haven't, but I wouldn't put it out of the question.

-13. Do you always arrange dates yourself, or do some friends interfere as well, arranging dates for you?
Every date I've had has either been arranged by myself, or the date.

-14. What are the results of your date(s)? Did it end up in a friendship/ a relationship?
All my dates have been with friends. But theres a noticeable difference between spending a night with a friend, and going with her on a date.

-0. Did you ever date and how often? If not: would you ever consider it?
Yes, I have been on "dates." But no to boyfriends. Never had one of those.
Yes, despite the fact that it scares me to DEATH, I would date the right guy.

-1.When was the first time you dated (which age)?
It was Homecoming my Sophomore year, so 15.

-2.What was the last time you dated?
Homecoming my Junior year, so 16

-3.What is your best memory of a date?
I remember I didn't ditch my date and my best friend ditched hers and I ended up talking to him more that night than she did because I sort of felt bad for him.

-4.What is the worst memory of a date?
First date. I agreed to it just because I didn't want to look like a bitch and say no, but I had 0 interest in that guy and ended up hiding from him

-5.What is the funniest memory of a date?
n/a

-6.Do you dare to ask someone for a date?
hell no; I'm not that desperate yet

-7.If someone asks you for a date, will and did you always accept the offer?
considering I've only been asked twice, I said yes both times

-8. WHERE do you ASK someone to go out with you on a date?
n/a

-9. Which PLACE do you date finally? Do you search for a specific location? Where and what? (This question is interesting to get ideas for yourself of the experience of others!!)
well...we ate out at a local restaurant on the first, and a friend's house the second.

-10. How do you prepare for a date? Are you nervous? Do you wear special clothes? Do you ask friends for advice? Do you date secretly, or do your friends and family know it?
They were both for school dances. I wore dresses.

-11.Did you ever blind-date? Without seeing a picture AT ALL. or even: without knowing ANYTHING of the person AT ALL? If not: would you consider doing it, f asked?
no...I wanna know who I'm looking for. No pic, no date.

-12.Did you ever date after meeting someone at the Net? If not: would you consider doing it?
no, but I would. Granted he wasn't psycho...

-13. Do you always arrange dates yourself, or do some friends interfere as well, arranging dates for you?
n/a

-14. What are the results of your date(s)? Did it end up in a friendship/ a relationship?
I was already friends with the second guy. We just went together because neither had a date.

Actually, you should not feel that you are being desperate asking a guy out. We liked to be asked out too, not to always have to do the asking ourselves.

I wouldn't call it being desperate. I've done it twice, and I have never been on a date through personal and family-related reasons. Sure, I did it twice and was rejected nicely twice. The first guy told me he was "honored" and developed some vacation photos. He was just overall nice. The second guy (yes, my chatting guy friend) I asked him openly and honestly if he's ever been asked out by a girl and if he thought having a girl ask him out was weird. He said he's been asked out in junior high and he didn't think it was weird for a girl to ask him out. He said it was cool. He's just not into dating at the moment.

So both situations I wouldn't consider as failures. And neither situation was embarrassing or even negatively. Sure, they didn't go my way quite yet (I'm not out of the woods for potentiality for the chatting guy in our future - who knows...it can go either way), but that's just life. I am confident it will happen when it happens. I do see where you are coming from, though. The rejection is initially SCARY. I was scared out of my wits asking both of these guys out, especially the second because he is so shy and in his own little world almost like a hermit crab. That made it a tad bit difficult for me just to go up to him. Then, I had the "balls" to just risk going up to him. It's so not me...considering I'm not all that sociable and am paraoniac to my wits. And to think, I was *this* close to just forgoing the second guy altogether because of his major shyness.

I think of it as a learning experience, I guess...

Well, for someone as shy and scared of rejection as I am, it'll take an act of desperation to do the asking. I may be overcoming fear of the phone and dogs, but not rejection.

I can totally relate, I'm exactly the same way. I use to be scared to death to even talk to a girl on the phone, but like you, I'm much better at that now. I'm just really shy, and absolutely terrified of being rejected, so Iv'e only asked a girl out once in my whole life. Since girls hardly ever ask guys out, I'm pretty much going to have to get lucky if I ever want to meet the woman of my dreams. It's just too bad I don't look like Peter May, then all my trouble with women would be solved, LOL. You really should hang in their though. You seem like a very sweet person, so I'm sure you'll meet a nice guy real soon!!

Lucas - I hope you've recovered from the dog paw! Reminds me of when my rabbit bit a date!

-0. Did you ever date and how often? If not: would you ever consider it?
+ I dated quite a bit in my teens and early twenties. Not so much throughout my twenties (it's long, sad story )

-1.When was the first time you dated (which age)?
+ My first date was in grade 5, so I guess around 10? It was for a chocolate milkshake and then we built a snow fort (how Canadian eh?)

-2.What was the last time you dated?
+ I guess it would be about 11 years ago.

-3.What is your best memory of a date?
+ The guy making me a gourmet dinner, complete with 11 white roses, with 1 red one and then dancing with only him singing (no music) under the moonlight (it was right out of a movie.......aaaahhhhh)

-4.What is the worst memory of a date?
+ The bum is invited for my birthday dinner, mom makes a crown roast (complete with the little socky things) and he asks, "What's this sh*t?"

-5.What is the funniest memory of a date?
+ Breaking a glass ashtray on a desk (don't ask!)

-6.Do you dare to ask someone for a date?
+ I would now (if I were single) no problem!

-7.If someone asks you for a date, will and did you always accept the offer?
+ Not always, I turned down some guys if I just had absolutely NO interest in them, but would go if there was even a good friendship.

-8. WHERE do you ASK someone to go out with you on a date?
+ Just for a beer after work at the local restaurant.

-9. Which PLACE do you date finally? Do you search for a specific location? Where and what? (This question is interesting to get ideas for yourself of the experience of others!!) I wanted to take him to a very classy restaurant that's well known for its fine dining, but he said fancy places with tablecloths and all made him nervous, so I took him to Chuck E. Cheese instead!! We now occasionally go to fancy places!

-10. How do you prepare for a date? Are you nervous? Do you wear special clothes? Do you ask friends for advice? Do you date secretly, or do your friends and family know it?
+ I start preparing first thing in the morning - extra long shower, everything, scrubbed, shaved, plucked, clothes carefully picked out (sometimes even purchased specifically for the date), scent layered, you name it!
Because Frank and I worked together, we kept it secret at the company, but our families knew about it.

-11.Did you ever blind-date? Without seeing a picture AT ALL. or even: without knowing ANYTHING of the person AT ALL? If not: would you consider doing it, f asked?
+ Yes - and they were always a nightmare! I would NEVER do it again. Without trying to sound full of myself, the guy was usually interested in me, but I wasn't in him. Then you'd feel badly when you turned him down for a 2nd date and felt obligated to the friend who set you up.

-12.Did you ever date after meeting someone at the Net? If not: would you consider doing it?
+ No - I was already involved when the Net became popular, but I might have considered it. Yes, you have to be careful, but I think if you hookup on a forum such as SO, its a lot more relaxed and safer.

-13. Do you always arrange dates yourself, or do some friends interfere as well, arranging dates for you?
+ See Question #11 - disasterous!

-14. What are the results of your date(s)? Did it end up in a friendship/ a relationship?
+ Often would end up in a relationship, and if not, then a friendship. (Except the crown roast guy - I couldn't boot him out the door fast enough)!

Note: If you are with someone now: just use the past tense. (yes - this stuff all went down in the dark ages! )

I'm not allowed to date. My husband won't let me. Talk about a control freak.

Question The Date Survey - Do you date?
I found this on another forum....

-0. Did you ever date and how often? If not: would you ever consider it?..Hmm this is a difficult question, since most of the people that I "dated" ended up being long term relationships; at this present time I am in a relationship and we go on a "date" every Saturday if both of us are in town.

-1.When was the first time you dated (which age)? I do not recall the exact age, but I was in my teens and I was very very nervous...

-2.What was the last time you dated?..I am dating somone at this present time

-3.What is your best memory of a date? Just being with someone whom you are attracted to, the chemistry, etc.

-4.What is the worst memory of a date? Both of us being so shy that there was nothing said, complete and utter silence...

-5.What is the funniest memory of a date?

-6.Do you dare to ask someone for a date?...I would "definitely" ask a man out on a date, why should they do all the work...

-7.If someone asks you for a date, will and did you always accept the offer? Yes

-8. WHERE do you ASK someone to go out with you on a date? Since I work in club industry, usually at a bar...

-9. Which PLACE do you date finally? Do you search for a specific location? Where and what? (This question is interesting to get ideas for yourself of the experience of others!!)
Usually at a local restaurant, then dancing...

-10. How do you prepare for a date? Are you nervous? Do you wear special clothes? Do you ask friends for advice? Do you date secretly, or do your friends and family know it? Oh, I go out of my way to look nice; immacuately dressed, make-up, basically..the WHOLE NINE YARDS...

-11.Did you ever blind-date? Without seeing a picture AT ALL. or even: without knowing ANYTHING of the person AT ALL? If not: would you consider doing it, f asked? NEVER...

-12.Did you ever date after meeting someone at the Net? If not: would you consider doing it?..I guess then as same as a "Blind Date" for a causal friendship the answer would be "YES" but not for a romantic date...

-13. Do you always arrange dates yourself, or do some friends interfere as well, arranging dates for you?
Both
-14. What are the results of your date(s)? Did it end up in a friendship/ a relationship? Usually relationships

Note: If you are with someone now: just use the past tense.
