For years ive been wondering, how did this show end? Was there a "final" or was it simply cancelled "mid war"??

Yes, it was cancelled without a final episode-- so it ended "mid-war" so to speak.

in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, shows never had finales. That started in the 80s.

"The Dick Van Dyke show" & "The Fugitive" did, but they were rare exeptions.
And "I Dream of Jeannie" was going to, but they were forced to change it at the last minute.

thats not right. It shouldn't have been cancelled like so many other shows. It was cancelled before it's time. I'm like so passonate about Hogan's Heroes lol!
