Default Good Times Reunion

There may be a Good Times reunion before you know it! BernNadette Stanis' agent told me today they are negotiating with CBS for a Good Times reunion and a Good Times tour. No dates are set yet - negotiations have been going on for a while. I will let you know about the tour. They told me they want to include me in their tour! I may meet the cast!

Default Hate to burst your bubble

Not if Jimmie Walker won't cooperate. No J.J. No reunion. Just like Mary Wilson and Diana Ross. If they can mend whatvere difference they have between each other which is not likely, there would be a reunion. But you can file that one under "NEVER".

Default The Bubble Isn't Quite Burst

Walker is quite stubborn. It's something I thought about. But I feel his biggest nemesis, Rolle won't be there obviously, and he did talk about the controversy on the 100 Most Memorable Moments last year. We'll see. I still should get to meet BernNadette Stanis if things dont work out with CBS.

Reunions have been done without all important cast members (Lisa Bonet did not attend the Cosby Show reunion)

So its not yet under NEVER.

Default Wow that would be great

wow that would be great

but if jj does not come on the show
then who do they have left

thelma
Mike
Penny
keith
bookman
janet du bois
carl

sometimes it makes me wish that they didn't kill james out of the show
because john amos is still alive

however
Jimmie Walker is a appearing on a MTV reality tv show based on the seventys

so he may
but I don't know
he seems to be kinda backwards on the whole Good Times show
and thats the show that gave him his fame

so he is a wild card
because after all
when the show ended

Ester Rolle was still alive and now she is not

I don't know
but I think a tour and a stage version of goodtimes would be good

because it would shop around the possibility if a Good Times Movie would really work

but who knows

there I gave my gabs worth on this thread

Amos would probably do the reunion. He does talk about it on interviews, talks to the cast, attended Rolle's funeral with the cast (except for Walker, another minus), and made up with Lear. I do not think he's a problem.

And Carl (Moses Gunn) is dead.

now I can understand if it just was a reunion and not a show with a script then that would make sense because James Evans is dead

but a reunion with surviving cast would be cool
I can only hope Jimmy Walker can drop his ego and do it for the long time fans and new fans
that is making Good Times one of the best top selling DVD season sets

Walker definitely has an ego problem - and he hasnt done much on television since. When he was doing stand-up in my area, I contacted his agent to see for an interview, and I was arrogantly declined.

well I guess that answered my question and probably everyone else's question to if Walker would appear

you know what
I never thought I would say this
but if Walker is going to be this way with his fans
and the Sitcom "Good Times"
He should not get paid from reruns
if he hates the show so much
because that is disrespectful towards the fans of Walker who loved in the role as JJ and the Legacey of "Good Times"
(which I will add has been born again thru the birth of TV on DVD)

It was "Good Times" and the catch phrase "Dynomite"
that gave him his fame other wise he would really not even been known
Look on the IMDB and see
if it were not for "Good Times" he would not have anything and be broke
what a jerk

ps
if you look on the web site this is the only metion of "Good Times"

The flush of success gave Walker the confidence to give up his day job in 1972. Jimmie was now working regularly in clubs. Spotted by Norman Lear's casting director, Jimmie accepted a part in a new comedy series, "Good Times". "Dyn-o-mite!" was the phrase and it was made famous nationwide. Time Magazine named him Comedian of the Decade.

and then the items he is selling are hum?
Lets say "Good Times Related"
a t-shirt with him on it that says "Dynomite"
a Piture with him as the Charactor JJ from Good Times
and another t-shirt with him as the charactor JJ from Good Times

what a mixed bag of nuts

Well I got word today - a huge update. The contract will be signed this week for sure. Everybody living today will be there! They are touring in six cities. Everybody, yes Walker, except Janet Jackson. She will only be in Chicago. I was invited to the taping in New York and they are going to give me a date ASAP. I will be sitting in a room with the entire cast, and am going to explain my project and ask questions, or ask if I can call at another time.

If anybody has questions they would like me to ask the cast, please let me know. I'll see what I can do. Plus the questions might be good for the book.

Wow thats great
I'm glad walker has dropped his ego for the sake of the fans
I really don't have any questions that I would want to ask
I'm just really excited
they need to know what impact they have had on TV
and how good they were
and how powerful the show was
and how the fan base for the show has grown since the birth of TV on DVD
My kids love the show know as much as I do
they know what good tv shows are now becasue of shows like Good Times and others

Hey here is a question
did they think alot of the issues covered in the show
would be so revolent today
alot of the issues in the show are still happening now
so when they talk about many things that were happening back then
it rings true now

Hopefully, the tour will come to Los Angeles.

I lived in LA over ten years now.

I will love to see the GOOD TIMES TOUR!

If the tour comes close enough to where I am, I might go myself.

Hi, I'm new to the board. I was wondering if you had anymore news regarding the reunion. I saw Jimmie Walker on David Letterman earlier tonight and nothing was mentioned. Thanks for your time.
