This is getting to be one hell of a long wait, Universal better make up for the blow with some dynamite extras! I'm getting real anxious, not even one word about it on http://tvshowsondvd.com.
What do you guys think? If the release is coming in September, news should be in this month, but I'm nervous. pat |

I know. No word on cover art, extras, release date, nothing. I guess Universal is too busy making crappy movies, to give The Munsters a second look. I originally thought it would be X-mas of '04, now it looks more like X-mas of '05.
They might want to wait until the new Munsters movie comes out in 2006. I sure as hope they don't do that. That's adding another year to the wait. Season 1 DVD sales must be excellent! Everytime I go to a video store or video department store, I always go to the DVD section first, and I look at the Munsters Season 1 shelf, I always see it with one or two left. That proves they must be selling well, because they stock those shelves constantly. Universal confirmed the rumor that The Munsters - Season 2, WILL be released in 2005. So far, I don't see them living up to that promise. Well, as long as they do a good job with the remastering, I'm not too worried how long they take with the release. |

I mailed Universal and they replied that they hadn't set a release date, yet. They didn't really provide any additional information, either...
Could be they're aiming for Halloween. Also, I agree that as long as they're doing a good job doing it, (which I'd think should be a given,) and hopefully adding some extras, I can (ever so slightly impatiently) wait... My best, Dirt MunsterKoach.com |

To them, it's just a title waiting to be released, to us, it's the second half of our favorite TV show. They don't realize that this is very frustrating to Munsters fans. Every Munsters board I have been too, someone is asking "where is Season 2, where is Season 2?" There's no need for this wait. It could have been here by now.
But if the episodes come out looking excellent, it will sure be worth the wait. |

If Image had the rights, we'd already have the set in our hands with fabulous extras. They're byfar the most customer friendly DVD Company IMO. They're small and they have the time to care. Universal, is just what the company's title says, is huge, like the universe, and DON'T have time to care. Image's prices might be high, but there's always the wholesale stores to straighten out that small nitpick one might make.

I'll post a message on her board. http://www.butch-patrick.com/Butch_P...age_Board.html
I feel bad for fans of S.W.A.T.. A show that also lasted two seasons, but Columbia Tristar never released the second season. The first season was released on June 3, 2003. They've been waiting for 2 years. Columbia Tristar is the absolute slowest when it comes to releasing DVDs. They took about a year between All in the Family season 1, and All in the family season 2. |

October 4th... I can wait. But if its a lie, I completely give up with news on DVDs and I'll just walk into a store one day and act completely surprised to see a title sitting there I never thought would be announced. I'd rather walk in a DVD store 3 years from now, be surprised to see a title there, buy it, jump up and down, and never even had to be aggrivated waiting 2 plus years for the title to be announced!

I wonder what the inside menus will look like? I also hope they put the episodes on tracks, like they did with season 1. So you can skip to a scene a lot more easily. Unlike Gilligan's Island DVDs and All in the family DVDs, that do not have this option.

Once a company starts a show on DVD, most every "spec" remains the same for releases to come. Extras, menus and art... a different story. So I would pretty much be assured season two will have the option.

Somebody on the Home Theater Forum posted this about season two:
"A store trade magazine lists it as coming 10-25. No extras were listed" :tehcool: |

And what about the Image DVD, is that set going to be inclosed with Season 2, or will that be sold seperate like they originally had planned?
