Smile James Evans

As a kid, I never ever like James Evans.

James was too mean, YELLING and very hard on the kids.

Now, I have new found apprecation for James Evans.

James was looking out for his family; he wanted the best for them.

He was a real father to them; he will do anything for his family TO GET AHEAD!

I remembered that he found a suitcase of money and he returned it.

I think he keep about $2,000 or $5,000 of the money.

His family changed his mind about the money.

He really wanted to help his family out of the projects.

NOW, I wished I had a father like that.

James had a heart of gold. And some of the greatest moments of the show were when he struggled to help his family in any way - beating those guys up in the hallway who were after JJ, working many shifts. Those moments were the best and were not even funny.

The only problem I had with James on the Show was we he didn't go to the Job Interview because he felt he wasn't going to get the job anyway. I was so disappointed. Or as Archie would say, DISAPPAINTED-lol

I use to feel the same as you. I also grew to appreciate James as I got older.

Love the James Evans character. He's probably one of the greatest, most unappreciated sitcom characters of all time(played by one of the best actors of our time, JOHN AMOS). He was the heart of GOOD TIMES to me.

I Liked James as a Preteen Too. I always enjoyed watching him and feel he could have madeGood Times last until 1981 or 1982 if he stayed on the Show.

I agree! Oddly enough, the first GOOD TIMES episodes I saw were the POST John Amos shows, around the Penny/Janet Jackson era. Then, when they started rerunning the old ones I discovered the character of James Evans and realized all I'd been missing. What a ton of memorable moments he had in a relatively short time on the show(74-76)!
