Default TIM MOLNAR Case

Any new developments in the case of Tim Molner, the kid who withdrew all his money, left his home, and was later discovered dead 15 years later.

His remains were found by hunters in Wisconsin I believe. Pretty sad

His body was found right in my backyard (well, not literally). I tried to find information online through the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and have been unsuccessful so far. I looked up the hunter who found him through the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website and his record is clean (except for a DUI or two).

Very weird case. I'm thinking the kid may have suffered from a mental illness.

That's probably a good thing. Otherwise, you'd have some explainin' to do.

I have always found that strange how Molnar ended up in some woods in Wisconsin. It is just strange, and I am assuming someone from that area dumped him there because why else would they pick such an out of the way location? That would be just plain creepy if the guy that found the body was the same guy that killed Tim Molnar and then put his body there and then called the cops to give himself an alabi. I guess what would really help with the investigation would be if it was found out what happened to Tim Molnar after he left Lake City, Florida. Obviously we know his car wound up in Atlanta but we dont know if Tim drove it there or what happened.

Well as I've said in a prior thread about Tim Molnar, I'm not so sure he met with foul play. His case has a lot of similarities to Gayle Delano IMO. He seemed to be having problems in his life (which his family seemed to be aware of) and I think he left because he wanted to leave. He may have willingly discarded his car and may have even hitchhiked which could explain how he ended up in Wisconsin. I doubt they were able to ascertain the cause of death since it had been so long but since he was found out in the woods he could have died of exposure. I think if he were murdered and placed there, the killer would have probably buried or made some attempt to hide his body instead of just laying it out there for anyone to find. Just my opinion.

Hmm, now that I think about what you said Crystaldawn you may have a point there. If Tim Molnar was murdered it would have made more sense his body would have been found in Georgia or Florida. Since his car was left at the Greyhound terminal in Atlanta, I am assuming he left it there on purpose and that he sold the stereo, his expensive tool set and his bike for quick cash to buy a bus ticket or plane ticket. Since this was 1984 it would be much easier to escape without people tracking you down than it would be today. He could have easily got on a plane and given a fake name and flown off and no one would know.

Tim Molnar seemed to have something bothering him as his brother said. However in my opinion Molnar at least from outward apperances did not match Gail Delano. While Tim Molnar might not have been entirely happy with his life he didnt seem to be so depressed he was on the brink of suicide. OF course according to his parents Tim was rather quiet and therefore probably didnt share his feelings much if at all with others.

Okay, Tim was not all that quiet. He was a bit of a partier. A pretty heavy partier to tell the truth. If anything, it has something to do with drugs.

I commented on this case a year or 2 ago. I still think it's strange that Tim ended up in Wisconsin. Why go there? He knew no one there and it's not exactly the essential vacation spot! I think he may have left just to get away for awhile and had the intention of coming back someday when he was ready, and either died of exposure or met with foul play somehow.

Personally, I would like to visit all 50 states, but that will probably never happen. He may have chosen Wisconsin at random, or figured it was a good place to hide out.
