The Cosby Show is my favorite. One of my 4 favorite sitcoms of all time, in fact. Bill Cosby is the funniest man in the entire world IMO. My hero.

I also really liked Amen, Benson, Gimme A Break, Diff'rent Strokes, 227, A Different World and the little I've seen of Webster (no pun intended).

I have to go with The Cosby Show. I watched and loved it during its original run. Thanks to Nick@Nite, I've since overdosed on the show, and can't watch a single episode anymore.

Still, it's a classic. Well written and acted. Great show even if I can't stand it anymore, lol. I'm sure I'll watch it again in the future.

Its definately the Cosby Show for any decade in the past, present or future, but I think Amen or 227 are the best outside of Cosby.

In fairness, I've never really seen Amen or 227, but regardless, I'd go with Cosby for #1 without a doubt - one of my favourite shows of all time - although I have to agree with Janice - N@N is flogging it like a dead horse! The same happened with M*A*S*H for me, but after a few years I still go back and watch it again. The only shows I can't watch again of Cosby (and when I stopped watching on the original run) was with cousin Pam.

I also like Benson a lot and Webster (although, I don't really consider Webster to be a black comedy even though the lead character was black).

I tried watching A Different World and didn't mind it, but it wasn't one of my favourites.

Whatever happened to Sinbad anyway? That guy's head always seemed too small for his body. He would have been good in a part in Men In Black!
