Does anyone know why there is a different theme song in the syndicated episodes then the original NBC airings?

Sounds the same, only shorter. Sometimes the Anita Baker version is shown. |

I believe it was in season 6 that they changed to the Anita Baker version of the song. Paul said that he had an opportunity to play with Anita (that is him on the piano) and he grabbed it!
The theme song is edited in the later seasons of M.A.Y. (I think it started in 4 or 5) So that there would be more room to air the show itself. Either that or air more commercials
