Default Should They Have Done More DJ Episodes?

I think we all noticed that as the series progressed, the show became a lot more about Michelle and less about the other characters. True, each character did get stories throughout the end of the run, but it seemed to always come back to something Michelle did or said.

Anyway, I was watching the episode today where Viper and Nelson both fight for DJ's affections and I really enjoyed that part of the story. That got me to thinking about the DJ/Steve break-up episode, an episode that I think is one of the best in the series.

I found that the writers wrote DJs character and her teenage storylines very well and Candace Cameron was a very strong actor in these stories.

Do you think the writers should have given her a little more screen time in the final few seasons or am I the only one who has really become a DJ fan in reruns?

I guess the same can be said about Joey, actually. His stories always seemed to be winners (minus the ridiculous ending to the hockey episode where he has to explain to Michelle about being competitive) but by the end of the series, he was relegated to doing funny voices and being too stupid to function properly.

I agree that there should have been more episodes that revolved around DJ or the other cast members. With DJ and Stephanie they could have done more episodes that involved real life issues and not kids in fantasy land.
I guess I feel that MK and Ashley were over exposed cause I didnt like the Michelle character much, she was a spoiled brat who got away with everything.
I also am not a kid so those episodes that revolve around Michelles tantrums and her friends hanging out were not very interesting to me.
Did you notice that towards the end of the show, during the credits MK and Ashley get credited as "AND (names) as Michelle" so you know the show is going to be based around them. They were credited like special guest stars - kind of like Heather Locklear on Melrose Place.

I wonder what the rest of the cast felt towards this issue, did they feel pushed aside. I know that John Stamos is still friends with the twins but what about the rest of the cast are they still friendly with the girls?

The whole cast still gets together and eats and does stuff. They are all friends still.

DJ got jipped in the last season. I'm sure they gave more to Michelle because the Olsen Twins would guarantee them ratings but DJ just sort of faded to the background it felt like.
