Default Kurt Sova

Remember that case where a boy from ohio, Keith Sova, i think he was 16, went to a party one night and was found five days later, dead without an aparent cause. The weird thing was that suposably he had been alive for three days before his body was found, so where was he? Also, everyones story changed throughout the investigation but it was never proved that foul play was involved. NEar the end of the segment they say that someone kieth knows, a boy who looks about 10, was also later found dead in a ravine close to keith's with no aparent cause of death either. The cases were further tied togehter because both victims were missing their right shoe.also there was some "crazy" who told a store clerk what was going to happen before it did. Anyway, this case was really interesting i thought but i can find no more information on it. I can't even find it on the u.m. website. At the end of the segment his mother said that she saught as much publicity as she could to find out the truth, so it seems weird that there are no websites or anything with updates or information... maybe i am spellling his name wrong? anyone have anymore info? thank you

His name was actually Kurt Sova. I couldn't find out any info on him either. That is one of the most baffling UM cases in my opinion.

I just re-watched this case, and I was hoping that there had been some new info on it.

Is this the case were they theorized that some guys were target practicing where Kurt was swimming and he drowned. I believe they edited that out of the Lifetime re-broadcast of this case.

I believe that was the Jeremy Bright case you're thinking of. He was last seen at a fair in Oregon I believe and that was one of the theories on what may have happened to him. I don't think there are any updates on that case either.

Anyone know what year this segment aired on UM, and also what year the murders took place?

Thanks

Kurt Sova was murdered in October 1980.

Jeremy Bright went missing in August 1986.

Was the little boy that was killed not far from Keith Sova that Robert Stack mentioned in this episode named Eugene Vet?

Well, it was never actually established that he was murdered. An autopsy just couldn't determine how he died (although it indicated that he was dead for a day or two before his body was discovered).

Also, forgive the correction, but you actually a year off. Kurt died in 1981. Close, but no cigar.

As I recall, it sounded as though Eugene's last name had a "Mc" or "Mac" in it. I don't know the actual spelling, but the surname might have been "Vett(e)" or "McVett(e)".

I think it was Kvette, but not positive on the spelling. I should search the net for Cleveland area Kvette-sounding names. That should answer the question.

I also thought it sounded like RS said "Kvet" and there are some listings with that last name in the Cleveland area.
