Question Selling back textbooks in college

Anybody know of a place online that buys textbooks. I want at least $50 (I paid over $100) and the bookstore will only give me $22.50.

Thanks.

don't count on it--i've done this for a while, sadly, the bookstore is about the best place you can get it from... unless of course you post flyers and try to sell it to other students on your own--iv'e done that, that's how i've made hte most moeny

I remember those days. I ended up just keeping a lot of my books. I also remember paying a hundred bucks for a graphing calculator for one math class. The class ended and I have never needed that calculator since. It's been sitting here collecting dust for nearly 10 years.

The first and only time I ever tried to sell back my books, I was so disappointed after spending all that money for one quarter and ending up with not even half of what I paid for each book. I always kept mine too, they are in my parents garage, I think my mother is about to have them tossed out. Talk about money out the window.

What used to make me even more upset, was when the next quarter people couldn't use the books when you tried to sell it to them, because the author decided to write a new edition, so your book was not worth anything when you bought it after paying at least $50 or more for it. I still think it is a racket that the instructors and book dealers have going.

My books for this fall semester ended up costing 350 dollars. It's insane.

Bookstores are SUCH ripoffs when it comes to book buybacks. Your best bet is to sell on Ebay or post up announcements for other students. Same when buying books.

After last semester ended, I sold my books on Amazon, and got back a lot more than I ever would from the bookstore.

Try www.half.com

Great website right there!

I hate selling back college textbooks! You spend like $150 and you only get like $25 back! UGH!! I have heard great things about half.com though.

I kept some of those just for the principal of the thing. They were gonna turn around and sell it for like $80! The ones that were coming out with new editions were the ones that angered me the most. Hell, I never even read most of my textbooks.
