Default Doyle, from "Angel"

Did you guys know that the actor that played "Doyle" (Glenn Quinn) in season 1 of Angel died in 2002? He apparently overdosed on heroin. I did not know this until last night while reading about him on the internet. That's really sad. I was really upset when his character died on the show. This just makes it worse.

Yea I remember when he died. One of the Angel episodes at the time had a dedication to him at the end of the show.

yep, he was also Mark on Roseanne. It was shocking how quickly he aged, just look at him on Angel compared to the last season of Roseanne, it was only like 3 years difference and he looked at least 10 years older.

I liked how the Angel show let him have his Irish accent. Since their accent u cant really hear the the th so Glenn would go back and redubb over certain words. If u notice his accent comes and goes on Angel. I just found out a few days ago that he was dead whne I went to imdb.com to check out Angel casts since I just got Angel season 1 on DVD so when I got to eposed 9 where Doyle dies I actually cried I knew in real like he is dead. I really wish they had him on as guest apperances as a ghost or something. He is in 3 eposed uncredited that I found out by going to the site I listed. I didnt know he was mark on Roseanne. I never really watched that show very much. People say he aged so quickly but he still looked pretty young and he wasnt that skinny as most herion users. It really makes me mad to find out he was in rehab and they kicked him out for usin. Just think if they didnt kick him out Glenn might actually be alive or lived longer. I think rehab shouldnt have kicked him out since he was there for HELP. I dont know anything about how rehabs works but c'mon. It just makes me mad and sad to think abohut the possibilitites.

Doyle is my favorite character on "Angel," bar none. (and possibly the entire Buffyverse.) He brought a warmth and humor to the show, and also gave it its spark. I knew Glenn Quinn played Mark Healy on "Roseanne," but watching him play Doyle with his natural Irish accent was something completely different. I started to watch "Angel" because it was the "Buffy" spin-off, (I never liked the Angel character, since Cordelia was going to be there, I figured I'd give it a shot.) however, my attention was immediately drawn to Doyle, and he quickly became my favorite character. Unfortunately, I can't watch anything past "Hero," because its too sad to watch the show without Doyle there. I didn't even cry as much when Buffy or Tara died. I was bawling when Doyle died. Finding out about Quinn's death makes watching "Hero" that much worse. After watching some of Quinn's other work outside of "Angel" and "Roseanne," he's become my favorite actor. It just saddens me how he died, having been kicked out of rehab. From what it sounds like he truly died alone, and that's probably the worst thing of all. Glenn Quinn was so damn good, and left us way too damn soon. Love ya, Glenn!
