Sad Actor John Fiedler Dies!

This is very sad, he was the voice of Piglet! Great actor! RIP JOHN!!
____________________________________________________________

NEW YORK (AP) -- John Fiedler, a stage actor who won fame as the voice of Piglet in Walt Disney's Winnie-the-Pooh films, died Saturday, The New York Times reported in Monday editions. He was 80.

Fiedler served in the Navy during World War II before beginning a stage career in New York. He performed in supporting roles alongside Sidney Poitier on Broadway, John Wayne in Hollywood and Bob Newhart on television.

With Newhart, on "The Bob Newhart Show," he was Mr. Peterson, the meek patient who was often a target for Jack Riley's sarcastic Mr. Carlin.

Fiedler also appeared in the films "12 Angry Men," "The Odd Couple," "True Grit," "The Fortune" and "Sharky's Machine," and was a cast member on the TV show "Buffalo Bill."

But he was best known for the squeaky voice of the ever-worrying Piglet that he landed when someone noticed his naturally high-pitched voice.

"Walt Disney heard it on a program and said, 'That's Piglet,' " his brother James Fiedler told The Times.

In addition to his brother, Fiedler is survived by a sister, Mary Dean, The Times reported. The newspaper did not report the cause or location of his death.

OMG!! That is so weird because I just heard recently that the guy who did the voice for Tigger just died. So this year so far, there was Tigger, Piglet, and the men who did Tony the Tiger & Fred Flintstone died, too.

I looked John up on the Internet Movie Database because I wasn't exactly sure who he was. Now I know who he is. I also remember him in the movie "Harper Valley PTA" and he played on a really funny episode of "Golden Girls"!! I saw him in other things but I just never knew his real name.

RIP, John

Sad RIP John Fiedler

Gee, all the great cartoon voices are dying.

I remember John Fiedler on an episode of The Fugitive, he played the roommate of what's that actor's name John McGiver, I believe, on The End Game. He'd been around for a long time.

Wow, I remembered him just by his name. But I didn't know he was Piglet.

I'd be a little afraid if I was a cartoon voice from the old days...eerie!

RIP John!

I was a fan of his from the movie "Twelve Angry Men." He also guest starred in a few classic episodes of "The Odd Couple." My favorite is where Oscar and Felix move into a security apartment, and he's the manager. He was great in that one.

He was also in the pilot for "The Munsters" playing the mailman. The episode aired as the second, however "My Fair Munster".

RIP, Mr. Fiedler

Nope - that's how I know of him best, but also remember him in Twelve Angry Men with Henry Fonda and on several eps of Bewitched and other shows. He was a "standard" character in the 60s & 70s especially.

I hope he's resting peacefully and no longer being bullied by Doris!

No way, the classic arguments when Mr. Carlson would pick on Mr. Petersen. Now that is classic TV.
