I was at another message board, and one of the members there spelled "malicious" as "malishus."
I just cringed.....!! ![]() What are some of the worst [not very common] mispelled words you have ever seen? (Please don't mention names if it's from Sitcomsonline. )

The PRESIDENT of a company I used to work for would spell, "what" as "wat" and never get any of the "there, their or they're" right in context. Basically, everything was spelled phonetically - it would take us literally hours to try to make out what he wanted to say properly. When challenged about how someone could become the president of a Fortune 500 company when he couldn't spell "cat", he just said, "That's what I have a secretary for".

The worst spelling errors can be found in my posts.
I'm a terrible speller.

Maybe he.... never went to school? LOL. Or, he can easily have a learning disability or something.

I honestly don't know what it was! I know he didn't have a college eduation, but hey - he should still be able to spell better than that. I'm sure he would have openly told us if he had a learning disability. I think he was just super lazy! |

Basically any bad spelling bothers me. I guess because I've always been a fairly good speller, so I always seem to notice spelling mistakes. |

Do you know that there really isn't a word, "snuck"? It was always sneaked for the past tense. People got lazy and started the snuck crap and it finally was added the to (U.S.) dictionary officially a few years ago! I think its still "sneaked" in the Oxford version. It's like you'll also find "ain't" in the dictionary now. The whole language is going to ratsh*t! |

I know! I think most younger Americans have always said it. I used to yell at the t.v. when I'd hear Peter Jennings (Canadian) say it because he should have known better! (I'm not saying Canadians are better spellers or speakers, just we follow the British versions more still). If you use a word often enough, it becomes mainstream. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see a definition of "crashed" in the dictionary now as "slept". Slang just seems more and more acceptable. |

I post at another message board, and there is this person who talks in text message talk and spells almost every word wrong. It's crazy.
