i.e. on the network?

I saw the entire series when originally broadcast; I was nine years old when it premiered and I had a tremendous crush on Don Adams. I remembered him from the old Bill Dana Show where he was Glick the house detective with the same William Powell voice that he used as Max. I also listened to him as the voice of Tennessee Tuxedo.

I was just short of six when the show debuted... I do remember watching the show during it's original run, but probably not from the beginning..

We all (my brother, sister and I) liked Max's cars in the opening credits.. and I had a crush on 99, as did my brother (4 years older than me)... and we all thought it was really cool the way Max would go to the office every day.

But it wasn't until the show was re-run on daytime TV in the early to mid 70s (probably starting in 72 or so, when I would have been 12) that I really got to see all of the episodes and truly appreciate the humor, particularly the running gags and spoofs on other shows/movies.

Well, I can't say I watched it , per se...because i wasnt ALLOWED ( i was 4 when it debued ) mainly cause my parents thought it was too violent; however, I DID watch some eps , because my babysitter loved the show, and let me watch ! hehe ( The only ep that stood out in my mind,as one i knew from watching the original run, when i watched the whole series in reruns 20 years later, was the one where Seigfried was a sub commander )

No I didn't see it when it first aired. I was born the same year it premiered. Probably the first time I remember watching it was in the early 70's when it was in syndication. It always was one of my favorite shows of the 1960's.

I also liked the 1990s cartoon Danger Mouse and his sidekick. :google:

Yes, I was around to see the premieres of all of these. The 1960s ROCKED!

Honestly --comedy secret agents made more sense than James Bond, until I realized that HE is SUPPOSED to be funny, not taken seriously, since his plots are so outlandish, which is something that Bond fans don't like. I had a boyfriend

who refused to watch "other" secret agents because their existance threatened the "realism" of the Bond universe.

Yes I watched it and I always thought it was great. I'm glad it's coming to DVD at last so the kids and younger people can finally see it.

It's so very sad though that they couldn't get the DVDs out while Don Adams was still with us

My first exposure to it was in the seventies when I was still a kid. I remember one of our local networks was airing the final 5th season episodes every Saturday morning (closer to lunch time) and this was how I fell in love with the series, this season still being my all-time favorite. After that I was able to watch the rest of the series afternoons after school Monday to FRiday. Interesting thing is that they never showed those 5th season episodes in their syndication packages. It wasn't until my adult years that I was finally able to get a hold of those "rare" 5th season episodes on VHS thru want ad postings in the TV COLLECTOR that I was able to watch them again. (Of course since then I learned why they were rarely included - syndication packages stipulating they could only air a set number of times in syndication cycle as opposed to the other season) Most stations opted not to air them because of this need to count each airing.
Still my all time favorite tv series. The Time-Life DVD box set was a dream come true for me. This is the way all tv series should be presented and released...complete and uncut with awesome bonus features !!

I saw it as a kid, and remember thinking how funny Don Adams phydical comedy was, but the humor was more satirical- part adult and part "Rocky and Bullwinkle" sometimes.

I also had a big crush on 99, what guy didn't? Between her, Samantha on Bewitched and Jeannie, I was set!

Don Adams was one of my favorite comedians and one of the very first
celebrities that I wrote a fan letter to (I still have an autographed picture
that was sent to me). I also remember him from THE BILL DANA SHOW and
TENNESSEE TUXEDO. I also remember him from PERRY COMO'S KRAFT
MUSIC HALL. Don was part of an ensemble that included Kaye Ballard,
Paul Lynde, and Jack Duffy. A great comedian and actor. But after a while,
he hated being typecast as Maxwell Smart. He wanted to play different
roles.
