Default Reply here if you like The Partridge Family better than The Brady Bunch and state why

The Partridge wasn't really I show I got into but I was just wondering if there is anyone who actually prefers to watch the Partridge Family instead of the Brady Bunch and why?

I never got into the Partridges either. I saw every episode of the Brady Bunch. But I will take the Partriges over the Bradys because they were better singers. Also, the Brady Kids are a little self-centered.

I guess I liked "The Partridge Family" more because I had a crush on Laurie, not Marcia. "LAURIE, LAURIE, LAURIE!"

LOL!

David Cassidy's hair is like the BEST hair of all time, right up there with Grant Goodeve's on "Eight is Enough"!

EW -EW - What about Gary Sandy's on WKRP?! Or Bobby on Taxi (he himself bugged me, but that hair had a life of its own)!

This is a real tough call for me because these shows were part of my childhood and trying to choose between them is like trying to choose between Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio (or--where I come from--Gordie Howe and Bobby Orr.) That's how much I loved both shows as a child and today they are both in my top 10 list of all time favorites.

But since you asked...

I would put "The Partridge Family" slightly ahead on points because I feel the Bradys have become a little overexposed in recent years while the Partridges have become underexposed, underrated, and underappreciated. This surprises me because, when you take a look back to their beginnings, both started out fairly equally. Think about it: They originally aired on the same network (ABC), in the same era (early 1970s), on the same night (Fridays---with the Partridges following the Bradys) and were made to appeal to a similar age group (kids and pre-teens, like myself at the time). Back then, they were both huge hits and were marketed accordingly, and I have the paperbacks to prove it. However, since both series were cancelled 30 years ago, the Bradys have been everywhere, on variety series, countless reunion specials, made for TV movies, game shows, talk shows, other sitcoms, 2 big screen movies starring Shelley Long, the original series in syndication, and now on DVD with 3 out of the 5 seasons already on the shelves.

But, until the late 1990s, when the reruns finally started appearing again on MTV in the US and MuchMusic in Canada, the only time you would hear about the Partridge Family, aside from Susan Dey's successful run on "LA Law", was whenever Danny Bonaduce was getting arrested, providing plenty of material for starving stand-up comics everywhere. That's quite a disparity for 2 series that were supposed to attract the same general audience. Maybe now, with the show finally on DVD and the reruns getting a little more airplay, plus rumors of a movie in the works, the gap might be closing a little. We'll see. For now, I'll still take "The Partridge Family" by a small margin, maybe even because, overall, it was a better show. I felt that way 35 years ago and I still do today. And I still love them both!

The Brady Bunch is a much better series, and history has proven that.

I prefer Brady Bunch, but.... I can see where one may prefer Partridge Family, not a day has gone by since it went off where TBB hasn't aired, The Partridge Family is a tad more obscure and it's famous moments/lines aren't quite as ubiquitous as "Marcia Marcia Marcia", etc... So in many ways, Partridge Family has never been played out while Brady Bunch has.

I was always surprised that line-"Marcia, Marcia, Marcia" was so memorable because Jan only said it one time-lol
