Default Mabel King's Acting Skills

I know you all love Mabel... and i know she was a wonderful woman, stage actress etc... and I'm not saying I don't lke her, but her acting in Season 2 was so wooden. Even her lines came out messy. Any one notice this?

I loved Mabel, and remember my parents taking me to see the 'Wiz' stage performance as with Mabel starring.

Mabel's acting skill were great, it just that the focus of the show was not on Mabel but on the youth, so her parts weren't going to be 'full' parts and mostly fillers.

I enjoyed Mabel on the show, but I know a lot of peopled didn't care for her. That is probably why they started to show her less in only the 2nd season. She had a small part as Steve Martin's mother in the movie "The Jerk." She made him his favorite meal in the movie which I think was a tuna sandwich, a Twinkie, and a Tab. Ugh! Remember Tab?

After watching Season 1 I take my original post back - Mabel was hilarious! But she did lack in Season 2 - probably unhappy with the producers.

I really did not find anything wrong with her in season 2. I thought she was pretty good. She should have appeared in season 3.

Default Mable

I thought the word wooden was PERFECT- it was entertaining but not good as far as acting- Her timing was sooo off- I felt so bad for her in the episode with Rog moving into his apartment- She was gittering- nervous seeming- and just not comfortable with a sitcom shooting. The only GREAT episode is the one with her an the lettuce- Its great-

Agreed Mmadluv7 - but maybe she was jittery cos she knew her contract wasn't being renewed for Season 3.

And if you haven't already - PLEASE buy Season 1 as it is far superior to Season 2!
