Sure.. if I'm interested in seeing a movie, I'll go see it regardless of what's going on with an actor's personal life. It's a pain in the ass seeing him in the media constantly but that's not going to be a factor in whether I see it.

Despite the feeling of getting stabbed in the cerebellum whenever I hear or see him lately, I definitely want to see it.

Of course I'd still see it! It was great when I saw it as a kid, so this ought to be an improvement. Tom Cruise's beliefs have nothing to do with a film adaptation of a classic novel by H.G. Wells.

I'll probably see it because I thought the original was good, and the story is also good. But I can see why someone wouldn't go see it because of Cruise. He's been in the news so much recently it's difficult to separate him in the movie from his media persona- and his media persona has been so cheesy, corny and all-around annoying- it's great he's in love but he's sorta presented as going through a mid-life crisis. Frankly I'm sickened by the sight of him on the news.

I'll go see it, but it's not a must-see. It really wasn't before Tom went skitzo, but I have less interest now that he has.

But, I get in the movies for free, so why not?

Loved the original, and had not planned to see the remake. So no will not see it.

Eh, I don't know. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to checking out the summer blockbusters, so if I miss it, I won't lose any sleep.

I'll admit that Tom Cruise's antics recently have made me less excited about the film.

What is it about Hollywood stars and their beliefs that get really weird?? Shirley MacLaine caught a lot of flack for being a New Ager. And there are tons of other Scientologists out there in Hollyweird as well, like John Travolta.

I have never been a big Tom Cruise fan, and I am even less interested in seeing more of him after he's done such a good job of reminding us ho big a pompous ass he is.

...but I do like Spielburg's movies.

No. Plain and simple... no.

I love Spielberg; I do not love Cruise. Who will we be seeing on the screen? Cruise.

No.

I can't even look at Cruise's face without becoming agitated. So obviously, I won't be watching the film.

The news floating around is saying that this movie is the next "Battlefield Earth"! ...and if that's the case, I definately don't want to see it!

Im no fan of cruise and there are only a couple of his movies that I even liked interview with a vampire was the best but we all know that brad was the one who stole the spotlight in that 1 with a little help from kirsten dunst, I will go see war of the worlds because i am a big spielberg fan, infact there was only 1 movie ever made by spielberg that i hated and guess who was in it? u got it tom cruise (Minority Report) I just didnt get it, I walked out half way through the film, but tom cruise tends to do that to me.

I'm seeing it Friday with my dad, although I don't think any little green men will be coming to visit us anytime soon. However, if I lived back when Orson Welles did his broadcast, then I mighta thought differently!

I do believe in other life, but why do they care about us? We don't care about them, they don't care about us. They live there and are comfortable, we live here and we're comfortable. I love many sci-fi flicks, but the ideas are totally unreal to the human mind... unimaginable. Simply because our minds weren't programmed to think that such unreal things could actually be real. The '50's movie was classic too, I love the way they designed the aliens like robots!
