How did you think L&S jumped the shark during it's run? I think it did when we started too see a bit too much of Lenny and Squiggy...they got too annoying.

The move to Hollywood did it for me. There are only a few California episodes that I like.

California was the beginning of the end, IMO, but when Shirley left, it was an inevitable jump.

I think the show jumped the shark after the sixth season. They show didn't feel the same anymore and the plots were just starting to get weak. Eventually by the last season, half of the flavor of the show was gone.

Jump The Shark mean?

Laverne and Shirley jumped the shark when they moved to California. The show went downhill,it wasn't the same.
Jump the Shark means when a sitcom starts to go bad,like when a child is added,a character is deleted,or a move.

Shirley leaving was the killer!!! Though I still watch the Shirley-less shows..I like them only for the certain guest stars like, Carrie Fisher, Loraine Newman, and Carol Kane!

Definitely when the girls moved to Hollywood. The show lost much of its appeal with the move (and its ratings, too, as it was cancelled not long thereafter...)
