The History of Sony TV on DVD
This is something I've wanted to do for many companies, but man it's a lot of work, so so far I've just done this for Sony since they seem to be the company people complain about the most.
This list is to keep track of how frequently Sony releases their titles. I just concentrated on season sets. I left off best ofs (Steve Harvey Show, Designing Women, Greatest '70s Cop Shows) but I may add them later. I also left off releases where the complete series was released all at once (Tabitha, My Big Fat Greek Life, That's My Mama). UPDATE - Complete series releases are noted in a separate list below. The numbers in parenthesis refers to the weeks between successive releases. Using All In The Family as an example: it was 45 weeks between season 1 and season 2 were released, 76 weeks between season 2 and season 3, 38 weeks between season 3 and season 4. WOW! This list not only shows you it reinforces that Sony is terrible at releasing the rest of the shows they start. On my list i'd like to see Jeff Foxworthy, Just Shoot Me, Who's the Boss, Larry Sanders, Charlies Anglies, Starsky & Hutch & SWAT continued.

Sony has made announcements through August 30, 2005, so the earliest these below can be released is September 6. This is only IF these titles are released on September 6, just to show how long the wait is. Example: if 227 season 2 comes out on Sept. 6, it would be coming 49 weeks after season 1.

Well....Mad about You was released as a best of disc with 21 episodes picked by paul riser & helen hunt, so i guess there will be no more season sets of that show....

Well it looks like Sony is finishing anoather one of their shows this year. The Final season of Soap is coming in October. That makes 4 shows Sony has finished this year. It looks like there getting better. I hope the new mangemant steps it up and keeps this fast pace going.

looking at the Good Times ratio, it looks like season 6 is a perfect shoe-in for Feb 28, 2006, since they've been spaced 27 weeks apart. Looks like the Charlie's Angels drought will be ending soon if the Charlie's Angels official site is any indication.
