I think they should have ended LAVERNE & SHIRLEY when Cindy Williams left the sitcom. What do y'all think?

O yeah! Without Cindy Williams it was like "Laverne and herself...". And after that they kind of let the show die as other characters left without explaination. A huge part of the show was the two main personalities, without one of them, there really wasnt much of a show anymore. A lot of people i know refuse to watch episodes without Shirley in them.

Count me as someone who went Cold Turkey on the show after Shirley left. Most of the last season was a waste,IMO.
The series did start to show it's age when they moved to California, but it still had it's good points. The episode where they went to a High School reunion at the end of the 2nd-to-last season would have been a good last episode. Marshall(the producer, not his sister the star)was too greedy to quit. |

Uh, GARRY MARSHALL too greedy? Do you even know the whole story behind CIndy Williams leaving? DOn't get me wrong, I love CIndy Williams, but she was the greedy one. They offered her a great deal, leave for 10 episodes, get paid for those episodes, then come back. What does she do? She sues them for, like, $20 million dollars! I mean, every producer is going to try to keep his show going as long as possible. It's called show business. I do think they should've ended the show when she left, but I don't think anyone's greedy just because they left it on.

Coming from a grown woman who throws tea parties for her stuffed cat!" -Laverne "Well at least I don't sew L's on everything I wear!" -Shirley "Well that would be pretty stupid considering your name's Shirley!" -Laverne |

It wasnt entirly anyones fault. No one wanted to believe that the show was going downhill fast. Plain and simple, they wanted what they had during the first few seasons but it just wasnt possible anymore.

Well...I think that alot of sitcoms like to continue a show when a main character levaes, because viewers want to see the change, which makes the ratings good. I mean, L&S was #25 for it's last season.
